Over 4 years ago, after being too s**t scared to take the jump for years, I left a good, safe job to become a coach.

Since then I’ve coached hundreds of people, had thousands of conversations and put in countless hours.

Hardly a day off. 4:30am wake-ups. Late finishes. Admin-filled days.

And I wouldn’t change it for the world.

We’re only at the tip of the iceberg. Watch this space!

The unknown is often daunting.

We worry about the unknown, about looking foolish and about being incompetent.

But being a beginner is a prerequisite to mastery. How can we ever achieve anything if we aren’t willing to take the first step?

The best part? Once we’ve started, we often realise that 95% of our worries were scenarios that never happened.

So start. It’s better to be a beginner than to never begin at all.

We all see people in the gym or online and think “I’d love to look like that.”

So naturally, we start copying how they train.

But their training isn’t the whole story.

They focus less on exercise selection and more on turning up consistently.

They focus less on their split and more on sleeping well, so they’re rested enough to train hard.

They focus less on rep ranges and more on nutrition and hydration, so they actually recover.

Genetics play a part, of course. But none of that matters without the basics above.

A good plan helps massively. But it’s what you do in the other 23 hours that moves the needle and gets you the most out of that plan.

We’ve all heard “every action has a consequence” a million times. Rarely do we hear that inaction has consequences too.

The scary part? You almost never feel them straight away.

Go to the job interview and you might get turned down. Skip it, and you might look back on a decade spent in a job you hated, wondering what would’ve happened if you’d just shown up.

Your health works the same way.

Putting it off won’t feel like a big deal today. But the bill always arrives, and it’s much bigger when you pay it late.

Have high standards. Everything you want exists.

Be in shape — not because you hate yourself, but because you respect yourself too much not to be.

That mindset applies everywhere. That job. The body. That life you actually want.

It all exists.
Go get it.
