Junior Registration Day is almost here!🏉⚫️⚪️

Whether you’re returning for another season or joining Wigan RUFC for the very first time, we’d love to see you there!

Bring the whole family down for an afternoon of rugby, fun and getting ready for the new season. There’ll be family tag rugby, a BBQ, the bar open, the chance to try on the new club stash, and plenty of opportunities to meet coaches, teammates and other families.

An incredible day from start to finish – the sun was shining, the atmosphere was brilliant, and it was a great experience for all the youngsters.

A huge thank you to Fiji for choosing to bring a home game to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and it’s fantastic to see England helping bring international rugby further north!!!

A special shout-out to Guy Pepper for taking the time to say hello and have photos with the kids and also for scoring his first test try!
Those small moments mean so much and create memories they’ll never forget.

Days like these are what rugby is all about – inspiring the next generation and making memories that will last a lifetime.

U16s Proms

Over the past week, our U16s squad have been celebrating the end of their GCSE exams and the start of their well deserved summer break.

They’ll now take time to relax, refresh and recharge in anticipation of their various sixth form, college and apprenticeship places in September and the next step of their rugby journey with the Colts and senior teams.

Adorned in their best bib and tucker, the lads have certainly dressed to impress, and have been arriving in style at their school proms - by vintage car, limo, pickup truck and tractor!

Congratulations lads, well done, you’ve earned it 👏 ⬛️⬜️⬛️

Massive shout out to our brilliant junior coaches and parents who pulled their boots back on and came out victorious at the Ormskirk Rugby Club rugby & beer festival! 🏉🍻

We’re recruiting for the 2026/27 season, with league fixtures getting underway this September, and we’d love for you to be part of the journey!

At Wigan RUFC, our Senior Colts train alongside our Senior Section, helping players develop the physical, technical and tactical skills required to succeed at Colts level and prepare for the transition into Senior Rugby.

Whether you’ve played Rugby Union for years, are making the switch from another code, or are completely new to the game, our coaches have the experience and expertise to support you every step of the way.

Wigan RUFC are looking for a new Juniors Fixtures Secretary to join our fantastic team🏉

This is a key role that helps keep our junior section running smoothly, from arranging fixtures and managing schedules to liaising with opposition clubs and coaches throughout the season. Full mentoring and support will be provided by the outgoing Junior Fixtures Secretary, making it a great opportunity for someone looking to get involved behind the scenes at the club.

Responsibilities include:
• Arranging fixtures for the following season with other clubs via a fixtures secretary Whatsapp group.
• Maintaining a fixtures spreadsheet and keeping coaches updated weekly regarding upcoming fixtures.
• Organising replacement fixtures when cancellations occur.
• Managing kick-off times and pitch allocations to ensure numbers are manageable.
• Keep Junior Chairman and bar/catering manager up to date with fixtures and numbers.
• Confirm fixtures with opposition every week and exchange coaches contact details.
