People often find me through a reel about Pilates, posture, back pain or biomechanics.

But I realised I’ve never really shared why I do what I do.

My journey wasn’t about creating another fitness programme.

It started with a fascination for how the body moves, why pain develops, and why so many people are told to simply accept stiffness, aches and limitations as part of getting older.

Over the years I’ve studied biomechanics, Pilates, personal training, nutrition, and pre & postnatal exercise. What I’ve learned is that movement isn’t just about burning calories or getting through a workout.

It’s about helping people feel confident in their bodies again.

That’s why I created Perfecting Pilates and Align & Strong.

To give people a place where Pilates, strength training, mobility and movement education come together.

A place where you can build strength without feeling intimidated.
Improve posture without endless stretching.
And move with more confidence, control and freedom.

Wish more people knew this…

What looks like a glute exercise is often much more than that.

When the ribcage, pelvis and core work together properly, everything changes.

You move better.
You feel stronger.
You stop relying on compensation.

This is exactly why I teach organisation before intensity.

Because strength built on compensation rarely lasts.

There’s so much on social media being labelled as “Pilates” right now…

But is it actually Pilates?

Pilates isn’t just random ab exercises, fast pulses or throwing your legs around while your spine collapses underneath you.

Good Pilates is about organisation first.

Pressure.
Breathing.
Rib and pelvis control.
Rotation.
Movement quality.

The small ball between the thighs helps connect the inner thighs, pelvis and trunk so the body can create better control before adding movement, load and rotation.

That’s why these exercises can look simple but feel incredibly challenging when done properly.

Notice how the body has to stabilise before the arms move.
Before the rotation happens.
Before rolling like a ball.

That’s the difference between just moving… and actually training with intention.
