This past week our academy staff undertook training with Down Syndrome Ireland. While we are continuely adding to our skillset at DBS there was a very special reason why Cormac came into us. We are delighted to announce that we have a new staff member, Luke joining us this new academy year. We wanted to do all we can to make him feel welcome and be more educated prior to kicking off next week. This is something that is really important to us, especially to the man who put the DB in DBS - David Berber. An amazing opportunity for us and our players too. Inclusion has always been huge for us and something that we have tried to educate our academy players on through things like Disability workshops with the FAI.

The competition for this role was really tough and we were blown away by the interest and the candiates who applied. Luke comes to us with so much experience and is football mad like us all. He will be assisting our coaches a couple of days a week with equiptment management, setting up the pitch sessions, supporting the coaches during sessions and overall strengthening our academy team. DSI has been with us every step of the way guiding us through the process. We covered things that will help make this a real success with ways that we can support our new staff in their role.

Our evening supplimentary academy programme kicks back off on the 11th of September.

We are excited to invite football enthusiasts aged 8 to 15 to our ๐—ง๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ ๐——๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—บ๐—ฒ based in . This programme is designed to enhance every aspect of a playerโ€™s game, including tactical, physical, and mental skills. Supplemental technical football training led by our academy UEFA Licensed Coaches.

Take your son or daughterโ€™s game to the next level this season. Designed for players who want to sharpen their skills, grow in confidence and excel on the pitch. If they enjoyed our camps they will love our T.D.P ๐Ÿ’™

Running every Friday for 2 hours, our sessions focus on tactical, technical, physical and psychological development, aiming to produce well-rounded players capable of thriving in the modern game. Our world-class high-performance centre in Dublin allows us to develop every aspect of a playerโ€™s game tactically, physically, and mentally. Education both on and off the field is at the core of all our programmes.

Looking forward to getting back to the Hell & Back course with our new group in a couple of weeks. We are delighted to kick off a partnership with our friends from Alive Outside Adventure Centre ๐Ÿซ‚ So many amazing team building activities and days out to look forward to. We can't wait to check out the new additions to the course - did someone say slip 'n' slide ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ› This was one of our favourite memories of the programme this year and that is saying something as we had so much to choose from.

Friday was our final day of camps for Summer ๐Ÿ™
10 weeks absolutely smashed and yet again another amazing Summer of football , fun & friends in our high performance academy ๐Ÿ’™โšฝ๏ธ

Here are some of the final moments from Friday as we finished up with a tournament. Any excuse for our coaches to get involved with one each jumping in with a team. Always the best fun ๐Ÿ˜ It was time to say our see-you-laters to our campers ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿฅน Some players spent several weeks in our camps over the Summer so it is always a bittersweet moment finishing up. You can see how much they love our coaches. We are already looking forward to seeing all of our camp friends in October. ๐Ÿ”œ

Working on movements and footwork with some catches thrown in ๐Ÿงค
It's not always about being in nets stopping shots.
Practising and perfecting your footwork and key goalkeeper movements help create muscle memory using high-repetition, progressive drills that isolate footwork, handling, and diving mechanics. The use of plyometric exercises like the skater jumps, side to side that we see here, will help build diving power.
