Don’t be that lifter that pulls out of meets because things don’t line up perfectly. The longer you’re in this sport, the less likely you are to have the “perfect” prep or peak.
In nearly 20 years of coaching, I’ve never had a lifter come up to me after a meet and say they regretted doing it.
You’ll learn more from poor preps and bad meets than you will from the good ones. It builds resilience and mental toughness. Once you start pulling out of meets, it quickly becomes a habit and not a good one.
If you commit to a meet and you’ve got four working limbs, see it through good or bad. You’ll be proud of yourself afterwards, and you’ll learn a little more about yourself too.
