Some of our favourite spots around the country, and why we loved them.

๐Ÿ“Œ Tawharanui Campground. Classic East Coast beach camping with plenty of space to set up, and a good chance of spotting kiwi in the regional park nearby.

๐Ÿ“Œ Lake Tennyson. Mountain views, less than an hour from Hanmer Springs, tucked in the Molesworth Recreation Reserve. About as back-to-basics as high country camping gets.

๐Ÿ“Œ Pureora Forest. Right in the centre of the North Island. Good biking on the Timber Trail, and camping next to podocarp trees over a thousand years old.

Save this one for your next trip away.

A small garage in Hamilton, in 1987.

That's where it started, and honestly, it hasn't changed all that much. Just gear built for New Zealand, by people who camp in it themselves.

Storage 101: how to pack your tent away so it's actually ready next time.

โœ”๏ธ Completely dry it before it goes away, even a little dampness can lead to mould
โœ”๏ธ Keep poles, pegs, and other parts in their carry bags, free from additional pressure
โœ”๏ธ Air tent owners - unscrew the hose from the manual pump before storing. Left attached, it stops the pump packing flat, which can dig into the tent and leave a permanent bend in the hose
โœ”๏ธ Store everything in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight

A quiet moment for gear maintenance, before the season picks back up. When you do pull your tent out again, here's the 5-minute check worth doing before your first trip:

๐Ÿ” Zippers - run them fully open and closed to ensure they're zipping smoothly
๐Ÿ” Poles - inspect for worn shock cord and any bends or cracks
๐Ÿ” Seams and floor - look for wear points before they become a problem

Save this one so it's ready when you are!

Had the pleasure of meeting Joel & Hayley last week, the lucky winners of our Fieldays Tuatara Summit roof tent giveaway. Keen campers who love getting out with the family. Wishing you guys all the best for your next adventures! ๐Ÿงก

Fieldays 2026 was epic! Four days of sunshine, good yarns, and a steady stream of you through the marquee, having a proper look at the range up close.

The Tui and Savanna setup was a hit, as was our new location in the Motor Vehicle Precinct.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by for a chat. Always good to put faces to the names behind the gear! See you out there ๐Ÿงก
