Recovery isn't about escaping your life. It's about creating moments within your life that allow your body and mind to recharge.

And for many of us, that's something we need to become more intentional about 🧑

If you've been thinking about making more time for yourself, or you're feeling like you're operating on empty, this is something we can work on together.

I have a small number of coaching and supervision appointments available, with my September diary also open for when I return from Vietnam.

If you'd like a dedicated space to reflect, reset and think about what you need, book a free 30-minute call with me πŸ’›

You don't have to earn your rest. Your energy deserves protecting.

Such a beautiful place to meet with Chrissie my digital marketing partner for my business. We’ve worked together for over 5 years and she’s the person behind the scene of my digital media.

Be kind online.
Share positive and supportive comments 🧑

A lovely, simple and free way to have an Altruistic August.

Whether it's supporting a local business or someone who needs a caring comment, I challenge everyone to give this one a go.

Here are three more ideas:

1️⃣ Ask someone how they feel and really listen to their reply.
2️⃣ Thank someone you're grateful to and tell them why.
3️⃣ No plans day! Be kind to yourself so you can be kind to others too.

We often think we need more energy.

β˜• Another coffee
🏝️ A holiday
πŸ’€ A better night's sleep

And sometimes we do.

But often, the biggest gains don't come from adding more energy into our lives.

They come from plugging the small leaks that quietly drain us every day.

Maybe it's:
πŸ”Έ Worrying about things you can't control.
πŸ”Έ Saying "yes" when your plate is already full.
πŸ”Έ Hundreds of tiny decisions before your workday has even begun.
πŸ”Έ Constant notifications pulling your attention away.

None of these feel significant on their own.

But together, they can leave you feeling mentally and emotionally exhausted.

One question I often ask clients is:

πŸ‘‰ Where is my energy actually going?

Because once you notice the leaks, you can begin making small, intentional changes that protect your energy instead of constantly trying to create more of it.

➑️ What's one thing that's been quietly draining your energy lately?

πŸ”Έ Anxiety
πŸ”Έ Chronic pain
πŸ”Έ Grief
πŸ”Έ Stress

If you struggle with any of these, then read on πŸ‘‡

Havening is a powerful tool that I've integrated into my practice, and in short, Havening can help transform your mind by effectively training the brain to respond differently.

🧠 It is a neuroscience-based technique designed to reframe past experiences and empower you to build a more resilient future self. It can help de-traumatise specific memories, removing the stress response that gets generated when certain anxiety-related areas are accessed.

"Kathy Shaw is an exceptional Havening practitioner ... I am incredibly grateful for the work we did together and would highly recommend Kathy to anyone who is feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or ready to make positive change in their life."

Initial 90-minute sessions are $200.

Last month I wrote about protecting our energy.

This month, I wanted to take that conversation one step further.

Instead of asking:
πŸ‘‰ How do I get more energy?

Try asking:
πŸ‘‰ Where is my energy going?

It's a subtle shift, but it can be incredibly powerful.

Many of us think we need another coffee, a holiday, or simply a better night's sleep. Sometimes we do.

But often, the biggest gains don't come from adding more energy into our lives. They come from plugging the small leaks that quietly drain us every day.

My latest email newsletter explores decision fatigue, the Circle of Control, and some simple ways to protect the energy you already have.

If you're not already on my mailing list, I'd love you to join us. Each month I share practical reflections and gentle strategies to help you navigate work, life, and everything in between πŸ’›

"Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for kindness."

π—”π—Ήπ˜π—Ώπ˜‚π—Άπ˜€π˜π—Άπ—° π—”π˜‚π—΄π˜‚π˜€π˜ is here, an Action for Happiness theme to remind us to create a wave of kindness to spread around the world πŸ€—

To kick things off, I want you to pick one of these three things:

πŸ”Έ Be kind online. Share positive and supportive comments.
πŸ‘‰ See a post from a local business? Comment something that will make them smile.

πŸ”Έ Give people the gift of your full attention.
πŸ‘‰ Pop your phone away, listen and be curious.

πŸ”Έ Find a way to 'pay it forward' or support a good cause.
πŸ‘‰ Have a laden fruit tree? Share with your community.

Which one are you picking? Let me know in the comments.
