We wish Caleb Alexander and Hugo Phillips the very best of luck as they head away tomorrow to represent New Zealand at the Trans-Tasman Secondary Schools Squash Exchange!

School sport is about so much more than results — it builds confidence, resilience, friendships and memories that last a lifetime. This is an incredible opportunity for Caleb and Hugo to challenge themselves, meet players from across Australia and New Zealand, and be part of a proud squash tradition.

Australia and New Zealand have produced some of the greatest players in squash history, including multiple world champions and Hall of Fame members. Today’s competitors follow in the footsteps of legends such as Heather McKay, Michelle Martin, Geoff Hunt, Susan Devoy and current world star Paul Coll, demonstrating the rich squash tradition shared by both nations. Perhaps one day, your names will be counted among them.

Caleb and Hugo will join players from New Zealand, NSW and Queensland for a week of team competition, friendships and unforgettable experiences, culminating in the Australia v New Zealand test match. These two will also pair up for a Doubles team competition.

Go well Boys! Play hard, enjoy every moment, show great sportsmanship and make yourself, your school, your district, your club, your country and your family proud.

🇳🇿Eastern District making its mark! 🇳🇿

A huge congratulations to Caleb Alexander, Hugo Phillips and Jaynie Ovenden on their selection in the New Zealand Secondary Schools Squash Team!

Caleb and Hugo will travel to Sydney later this month to represent New Zealand, while Jaynie has been named as a non-travelling reserve — an outstanding achievement in itself.

The New Zealand Secondary Schools Squash Championships have been running since 1985, making this the 42nd year of the competition, and it’s fantastic to see Eastern District players featuring at this level.

To have three Eastern players selected is something to be incredibly proud of.

Congratulations Caleb, Hugo and Jaynie — your hard work and dedication have paid off! We’ll be cheering you all on!

Go Eastern! 🔥
