Clean sweep for Wellington Smallbore Rifle Association in the semi-final of the NDC tonight against Manawatu. With three bonus points (thanks Pippa and Bex Baines !) we got 16 points to Manawatu's 0.
Looking forward to the final against Marlborough in three weeks.

Brrr! I drove through hail then sleet to get to round 5 of the Interclub tonight. I'm confident it was slightly warmer in the range than outside - but it was a fine margin. Many beanies appeared on shooters' heads, and one blanket covered someone's (who shall not be named) legs while she shot. Has anyone tried underfloor heating on the mounds?
In the C grade Wellington Central edged out Brooklyn, 377.8 to 372.7.
Brooklyn had a dominant win over Ngaio Rifle Club in the B grade, 387.16 to 366.14.
The Open was full of drama. Three different shooters had overloads, one shooter dropped a bullet over the front, and one shot went into the floor. The end result was a Brooklyn win over South Wellington Smallbore Rifle Club , and a Ngaio win over Wellington Central. Bonus points to Pippa Taylor for her 200.
After 5 rounds, Central leads the C grade, Ngaio is head in the B and Brooklyn is leading the Open. Final round will be shot on 1 September.

Here are the results for the postals.
Individual postals consist of 3 shoots (10s or 20s, depending on the grade) shot over the year. In Master grade Pippa Taylor came 1st and Rob Taylor was 2nd. Pippa also took out the Junior match.
The teams match is 2x10 or 1x20 (depending on the grade) each. This year Wellington Central's team took the win in C grade.

Results are in from the Levin Open, shot yesterday and today.
Best of the best from Wellington were Max Parsons (Ngaio) who won D and came 2nd in C on re-entry.
In B Hester du Plessis (Ngaio) came 2nd with Anaci du Plessis 3rd.
In M Rob Taylor came 3rd. Special mention to Pippa Taylor who shot a 100.10 for her third card.
Rob dominated in the final with 200.17, which was enough for him to take the overall win from Ryan Taylor by inners.
Thanks Levin Miniature Rifle Club for hosting.

We shot round 4 of the Interclub last night. Some close matches and no bonus points.
In the C grade the Wellington Central team had a victory over their much younger opposition from Brooklyn. After 4 of 6 rounds the teams are all even on 12 points each.
There was a very close match in the B grade between Brooklyn and Wellington Central, with Central taking the win by three inners. Crikey.
Ngaio Rifle Club had a bye. In the overall rankings Ngaio has the edge over Wellington Central, 14 points to 12, but Wellington Central has shot one more match than Ngaio.
In the Open, Brooklyn had a win over Wellington Central, and Ngaio beat South Wellington. Brooklyn has a solid lead at this stage - it would take wins plus bonus points for another team to take the trophy from here.

We've shot the Manawatu Open yesterday and today, with mixed results.
In the D grade Max Parsons (Ngaio) cleaned up with 294.13 - a stunning score for D grade. Emma Dagger (Ngaio) came second with a respectable 288.13.
B grade was a battle of the du Plessises again. This time Hester edged out (on inner) Anaci for the win. Anaci du Plessis came 2nd. We convinced Max to reenter in B grade (rather than burgle C grade) and he placed 4th.
Mark Baines came 3rd in A grade.
Master grade was another battle of the Taylors, supported by other Wellingtonians. Ryan Taylor won it (he's not one of us, but being Horowhenua he's Wellington-adjacent). Rob Taylor (South Wellington) came 2nd, Pippa Taylor (South Wellington) 3rd, Meredith Ackrill (Brooklyn) was 4th and Edwin Bode (Wellington Central) 5th.
Bex Baines got top shot in the final, but it was cumulative so Ryan Taylor took overall honours, with Rob Taylor second.
