Flat back or rounded - your instructor isn't just cueing shape. They're cueing a whole different set of muscles. ๐Ÿ‘‡

On the Short Box, a flat back loads the posterior chain: back extensors, glutes, hip flexors - and builds length through the spine.

A rounded back turns the focus inward - deep abdominals, spinal flexion, segmental mobility.

Depending on what your body needs, one will serve you better than the other on any given day.

Your spine does a lot for you. ๐Ÿค The Spine Corrector gives it the support, space, and gentle correction it deserves - while making your core work for every single rep.

This is what intentional movement looks like. โœจ

It's called a chair. You will not be sitting on it comfortably. ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿค

The Wunda Chair is one of Pilates' most underrated pieces of apparatus - a pedal-based system that challenges your balance, coordination, and stability from every angle.

Small, mighty, and endlessly versatile. Visit our studio to find out how you can benefit from it.

Your spine moves in six directions. Most of us only use two if weโ€™re in deskbound jobs.

Lateral flexion, the simple act of bending side to side, is one of the most neglected movements in the body. Side Bend on the mat changes that. It lengthens the waist, opens the ribcage, strengthens the side body, and brings life back to a spine that's been sitting still for too long.

Swipe to see it in action ๐Ÿ‘‰

Things our instructors say - and why they live rent free in your head. If you've taken a class with us, at least one of these has stopped you in your tracks.

Which one's yours? Drop it in the comments. ๐Ÿ‘‡

Rounded shoulders. Tight chest. A neck that never quite unknots. Sound familiar?

Chest Expansion on the Reformer is one of our favourite moves for undoing exactly that. It draws the shoulders back, opens the heart, and builds the kind of postural strength that changes how you carry yourself - in the studio and out of it.

This month, we're going deep on this one. Come feel it for yourself. ๐ŸŽฏ

Your hands do a lot. ๐Ÿค Gripping, typing, carrying - tension builds up without you even noticing. A few minutes with the Franklin Methodโ„ข fascia ball can change that.

Squeeze, release, breathe. It stimulates circulation, softens the fascia, and reminds your hands and forearms to let go of everything they've been holding onto. Small tool. Surprisingly powerful.

Available for purchase in our studio - ask any of our instructors how to use them.

Let's clear something up. ๐Ÿ‘‡

Most people come to Pilates thinking it's about flexibility. While that's a happy side effect - it's not the point. Pilates is about breath, control and deep core stability. The kind of strength that works from the inside out and changes how your body moves in everything else you do.

Flexible is a bonus. Strong is the goal.

Tucked away in the quiet of Sunset Way. There's something intentional about where b.a.r.e Pilates is located - away from the rush, nestled in one of Singapore's most serene neighbourhoods. A place where you can actually arrive, slow down, and move with focus.

We hope you come visit us soon.

Ever wondered why we switch between heels and toes during footwork?

It's not random - each position targets something different, and together they build the kind of foot and leg strength that supports everything else you do in the studio.

Toes on bar - Targets the quads and calves. Strengthens the front of the leg and trains the intrinsic muscles of the foot - the small stabilisers that support balance, posture, and everyday movement.

Heels on bar - Targets the hamstrings and glutes. Promotes hip stability and challenges the back of the leg to work harder. Also encourages proper ankle alignment and helps with knee tracking.
