Buffkins had a great time at BFit505 ’s (Burque CrossFit) class. He was excited to see that rope climbs were a part of the WOD because they are a part of the daily workout in the North Pole. Everyone knows that Santa jumps down the chimney, but the lesser-known fact is that he actually climbs a rope to get out of the house.

After talking with the team at BFit505 he learned that in addition to CrossFit classes, they also host free community events like First Day Fun Run, BFit505 Ruck Club, and Free Kids Class!

Saturday 5:30am Start Time From Canyon Estates Trailhead, Ending in Placitas at the Tunnel Spring/N Crest Trailhead
*You must be self-prepared with 1)good hiking shoes/clothes/socks (perhaps change of shoes/socks at midpoint) 2)first aid kit (perhaps foot care kit too) 3)water 4)snacks/food for lunch 5)backpack to carry it all in 6)communication device-phone, etc.
A)Hike 27 mile trail at a moderate/quicker pace, with appropriate breaks (approx 12hrs completion)
B)Hike 1/2, end at Tram (take $ for tram ticket down) 1)quicker pace with lead group doing entire distance you stop at tram 2)mid pace, own pace 3)bring up the rear group
C)Hike up, back to start, on own, or with others who may be doing the same

Lots going on this week! Regular WODs, Sunday nutrition kick off meeting, Monday evening Barbell class, Tuesday Morning at fair with Team RWB, Wednesday teens lifting/crossfit class, Saturday hike of Crest Trail or WOD, Sunday Yoga. Phew! So many opportunities to be healthy, strong, and engage in community.

Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the new enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Save the date! We’re hiking from the south end of Crest Trail to the north end on September 17th! 5am start time, approx 7:30pm end time. While this hike is open to our Abq community, read the requirements. This is NOT for new-to-hiking or just getting back into condition people.


We’re rucking this Saturday for our WOD at Oak Flats Trailhead. There will not be a Gym location WOD. We meet at Oak Flats Trailhead for an 8am start time (it’s in Tijeras, NM). Whether you’re carrying a heavy ruck sack, or coming to enjoy a nice hike- see you there! Oak Flats Group Picnic
