Trainer of the Month - Blaine

How long have you worked here?
9 years

Why do you enjoy training/working at the Wellness Center?
The Wellness Center has given me the opportunity to work with people from all walks of life. Working here has also provided me the ability to work on my creative side by doing lectures, group classes, workshops, etc. I truly do enjoy the educational aspects of what I do, even though sometimes it may not seem like it :P.

What do you specialize in?
Being Smart-castic! Okay but on a serious note, I mostly work with cardiac and people with Parkinson's. I have always been an avid learner, so with the groups I work with there is a constant need to learn the "best" or most efficient way to help them through whatever they are going through. It's a lot like solving a puzzle, you have to figure out what fits for this person versus the next, sometimes you have to experiment.

What motivates your personally?
FOOD! Okay but as I previously mentioned I am an avid learner; I do enjoy learning new things and their applications to clients/patients. I think it's important to have ample tools in the toolbox.

What motivates your professionally?
I like being able to help people understand that they ARE able to do something even if they believe they are not. I like the constant having to learn and adjust my approach and knowledge for different people. "If I can get even one person to exercise it WILL help change their life, even if they don't see it"

Who are you outside of the Wellness Center?
Oh good nerding out time :). In the last few years, I have become more of an avid reader (not quite like my wife, but that's her superpower), I am a cat dad to what amounts to a rather large couch potato. I enjoy going places and experiencing new things.
