Finishing off the sequence I posted a few days before the games, 2026 taught me…

You come into this sport thinking that reaching the top is the pinnacle, the highest you can go.
While in a worldly sense that may be true, it all fades away quickly makes you ask yourself a deep question, where is my worth & why am I pursuing this?

I began to realize 4 years ago that no matter how much I achieved, or how many times I won, it could all be taken away from me & winning wasn’t a foundation I could build my life on.

The fleeting nature of idolizing accomplishments exposed my inner need & desire for a relationship with my Heavenly Father.

My worth used to be so wrapped in this past weekend & how awesome the games is:
Chasing the highs, the victories, the medals, the camera time, the sponsors, you name it. While all these things are so awesome and fun to chase, it was very unsustainable on it’s own and took away from the pure joy that God had set for me in this journey.

I was reminded of this verse this week by a brother of mine praying before an event on the final day and it really stuck with me and I wanted to share it with you guys.

Isaiah 40:8
“The grass withers & the flower fades, but the word of our God endures forever.”

Whatever you are chasing is much better when you invite God to be the center of it all.
