WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A PROFESSIONAL FITNESS COACH?

In an industry where almost anyone can call themselves a trainer, I believe it’s worth asking what separates someone who leads a workout from someone who truly knows how to coach.

My personal background includes:

🎓 A degree in Exercise Science.

🎓 A Master’s degree in Education, Health, and Physical Education.

🏋️ CrossFit Level 3 certification.

📚 Over 14 years of owning CrossFit gyms and coaching athletes.

I’ve spent more than a decade in this industry, and here’s what I believe:

Coaching is about more than counting reps, making people sweat, or posting impressive workouts on social media.

It’s understanding human movement. It’s knowing how to teach a squat, recognize when technique needs improvement, select appropriate loads, modify movements, and help people progress over time.

It’s understanding the difference between simply getting someone through a workout and actually helping them become better at fitness.

Does experience guarantee perfect coaching? No. Does a certification automatically make someone a great coach? No.

But education, professional development, experience, and the ability to apply that knowledge matter.

A professional coach doesn’t just tell you what to do. They understand why you’re doing it, how to teach it, and how to help you improve.

At CrossFit Conductor, our goal isn’t just to get you tired. It’s to help you build strength, improve movement, develop confidence, and stay capable for life.

Because you deserve more than someone counting your reps.

You deserve a coach.

🚨 THE CROSSFIT CONDUCTOR MEMBER-TO-COACH PIPELINE NEEDS TO BE STUDIED.

Apparently, the secret to building an incredible coaching staff is to build a community so good that your own members start volunteering to become part of the problem.

EVERYBODY CONGRATULATE KYLE ON GETTING HER CF-L1! 🎉

After nearly two years as part of the Conductor family, Kyle is officially joining our coaching team!

Please allow us to be sentimental for approximately 30 seconds.

There’s something pretty incredible about building a place where people show up to work out, fall in love with the community, and eventually decide they want to be the ones welcoming the next person through the door.

That’s not just a gym. That’s something pretty damn special.

Kyle already knows our members. She’s celebrated their PRs, suffered through the same workouts, and experienced firsthand what makes Conductor feel like home.

Now she gets to help create that experience for someone else.

Most gyms recruit coaches to build a community. Eric built a community that keeps producing coaches.

Kyle, we’re so damn proud of you!

Eric, congratulations on successfully recruiting another certified menace.

The credentials are legitimate. The personalities remain a liability.

Same workout. Different weights, movements, abilities, and occasionally interpretations of what the coach just explained.

That’s okay. We’ll explain it again. 🤣

There’s no requirement to be the strongest, fastest, or most experienced person in the room.

Your workout should challenge YOU. Not the person standing next to you.

Progress isn’t one-size-fits-all. Neither is CrossFit.

We’re not here to change anyone’s mind about CrossFit.

We’re here to question how you formed an opinion without consulting us first.

We take our coaching seriously. Ourselves? Not so much.

You don’t have to be fit, experienced, or even remotely coordinated to get started. Just show up. We’ll handle the rest.

Swipe for an educational experience of questionable professionalism. ➡️

💪 A DIFFERENT APPROACH TO HEALTHCARE: OUR FAMILY’S EXPERIENCE

What if you could take a more active role in your healthcare while saving money along the way?

Our family has been part of the CrossFit Medical Society for almost two years, and it has been a great fit for us. We’re saving more than $1,000 a month compared with what we were previously paying!

Here’s what makes it different:

🏥 It’s NOT health insurance. It’s a community-based medical cost-sharing program that helps fund eligible medical expenses.

💰 You make a monthly contribution to participate in the community.

🔎 You shop for the best self-pay prices instead of simply accepting the first price you’re given.

🤝 You submit eligible medical expenses for potential sharing by the community.

📈 You take ownership of your healthcare. We’re proactive about our health, don’t have prescription medication expenses, and set aside additional money to cover bills we may need to pay before receiving funding.

For our family, the combination of lower monthly costs and a more hands-on approach to healthcare has worked really well. We’ve also had a positive experience with our major medical expenses.

But I want to be transparent: this isn’t for everyone. You need to understand the program’s guidelines, plan for out-of-pocket costs, and recognize that eligible expenses are not guaranteed to be funded.

We believe in taking ownership of our health, and this has been another way for our family to do that.

Curious if it might be right for your family? Check out the CrossFit Medical Society, learn how it works, and decide whether it fits your situation.

Have questions about our experience? Drop them in the comments or send me a message. I’m happy to share what we’ve learned!

Same community. Stronger together. ❤️💪

Salmon and Cod on the Blackstone, Rice, and Kale Salad.
🐠🍚🥗
Whole Foods always has a great selection of fish and I usually just go with what’s on sale. This day it was Salmon and Cod.
🐟🦀🐙💰
Rice pilaf from Trader Joe’s, tastes great and doesn’t have any s**t ingredients.
🍚😀
Kale salad just had onions and homemade dressing made with lemon juice, olive oil, salt/pep/garlic, and grated parm. The dressing softens the kale if you let it sit for a while.
🥬😀
Also remember to make too much and have the leftovers for lunch the next day!
😀💪🙌

I think I figured out why Eric’s favorite event is the B**r Mile.

The man wins EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR. 😂🍺

Meanwhile, Abbie secured the female division with a Busch Light in one hand and a puke bag in the other like the athlete she is. 🏆

So congratulations to our 2026 B**r Mile champions. 🍻

Enjoy this footage of everyone still having dignity.

Because unfortunately for the rest of you…

I was there.
I had my phone.
I filmed EVERYTHING.

🍺 IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN. 🍺

The leaves are changing. The temperatures are dropping. And once again, the brave, the foolish, and the questionably hydrated will gather at CrossFit Conductor for one of the most difficult challenges known to mankind…

THE B**R MILE

4 Rounds
1 B**r
400m Run
1 AWESOMELY TERRIBLE decision.

Simple in description, near impossible in ex*****on.

Tomorrow, September 18th, we bring back one of our favorite traditions at Conductor!

🎉 5:00 PM — Member Party
🍺 6:30ish PM — B**R MILE

Come hang out, eat, drink, cheer on your fellow members, and watch perfectly reasonable adults voluntarily make themselves miserable.

Whether you’re running, spectating, heckling, or just here for the party — come be part of it.

And remember…

You don’t have to be crazy to run the B**r Mile.

…but it certainly helps. 🍺🏃‍♂️🤢

Tomorrow. 5 PM. CrossFit Conductor.

The rumors are true. 👀

The coaching is serious. The vibes are immaculate. The people are top tier. The chaos is absolutely unnecessary.

We lift heavy things, celebrate the hell out of each other, occasionally participate in activities meant for elementary school recess, and, against our better judgment, continue to let Eric dress himself. 😂

Somewhere along the way, the people you came to work out with become your people.

Come for the CrossFit. Stay for whatever the hell is going on here. 🤝🏼
