Tami Roman revealed that she recently sat down with her attorney and made a major decision when it comes to her estate. The reality star shared that she removed her husband’s name from her accounts, estate and will, making sure that everything she has built will go directly to her children if anything ever happens to her. Tami explained that it’s not about love, it’s about protecting her legacy. She pointed out that a man can remarry, have another wife and start a completely new chapter, but her children will always be her children. ❤️ That’s why she wants everything she worked for to remain within her family. She admitted she didn’t have to share something so personal, but wanted to remind people of the importance of making smart legal and financial decisions regardless of how much you love someone. She made her acting debut in "The Bodyguard" in 1992 opposite Kevin Costner. The film took in more than $411 million worldwide, and the soundtrack she recorded for it is still the best selling film soundtrack ever made. It won the Grammy for Album of the Year, and "I Will Always Love You" won Record of the Year.

She used that leverage to get "Waiting to Exhale" greenlit in 1995, adapted from Terry McMillan's novel and directed by Forest Whitaker. A year later came "The Preacher's Wife" with Denzel Washington, directed by Penny Marshall and built on the 1947 Cary Grant picture "The Bishop's Wife." Her $10 million fee made her the highest paid Black actress in Hollywood at the time, and the gospel soundtrack became the biggest selling gospel album in Billboard history.

In 1997 she played the Fairy Godmother in "Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella" for ABC and executive produced it through her own company, BrownHouse Productions. More than 60 million people watched. It drew seven Emmy nominations and won for art direction. BrownHouse went on to make "The Princess Diaries" and "The Cheetah Girls." Her last film was "Sparkle" in 2012.

Off screen she ran the Whitney Houston Foundation for Children, which she started in 1989 to help homeless and sick kids, fund scholarships, and build parks and playgrounds. Every dollar of her proceeds from the 1991 Super Bowl anthem single went to the American Red Cross.
