I’m facilitating Restorative Yoga tomorrow for the 1st time after foot surgery! 🦶 SUPER excited to focus on rest.

In Restorative Yoga, you practice intentionally moving your body into a down regulated state. With repeated practice, you can access the parasympathetic throughout the day, when you need to. 🙏🏻🧘🏾 It’s a pretty amazing skill.

Week 3 after surgery, & I just graduated to putting 2 feet on the ground! 🦶🏻🦶🏻 Looks like things are moving along nicely. Today the doctor said “your foot is perfectly aligned.” Music to my ears! 🎶 Now 2 weeks in the boot + a crutch 🩼 . I can do this. 💪🏻

SO… I won’t be teaching yoga in April or May. 😕

Gotta let that foot heal in PERFECT alignment! ❤️🦶 I have capsulitis of the 2nd toe + a bunion on my left foot, which are really starting to affect my gait & balance, & getting painful. I’m grateful to be able to correct them now, AND looking forward to doing yoga & running with an aligned ankle, knee, & hip. 🦵🏻

I plan to resume Restorative & Trauma Sensitive Yoga in June. Keep an eye on my website for announcements about TCTSY series this summer! ⛱️☀️

When you elevate your feet & hips higher than your heart, 🫀the flow of lymph reverses & your body moves into rest & healing. It’s a way to gently tell your body that she can stop doing & just be. 🍊🪷
