A team photo to say a bittersweet farewell to Arber, who attended his last training session before moving to D.C. this weekend to start his new journey as an IT Specialist at the U.S. Department of the Treasury this coming Monday.

Wherever you go, we hope you always stay safe and healthy, hold high the honor and pride of a Taekwondo Black Belt, and continue to demonstrate your intelligence, integrity, and unwavering dedication to your new team, just as you have done as a courageous and bold leader of Team K-SPIRIT. Let's go Arber! 💪🍀❤️

The 2nd Degree Black Belt Promotion Test essay titled “What a Black Belt Means to Me” was written by Max Kobichev (9 years and 11 months old, training since October 2000), who was promoted to his 2nd Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo last Saturday. Congratulations, Max — you truly deserve it! 🏆👏

[summary] What a Black Belt Means to Me – By Max Kobichev

I’m turning 10 soon, and after almost six years of Taekwondo, I’ve learned that being a Black Belt isn’t just about cool kicks, breaking boards, or winning medals. It’s about becoming someone stronger—inside and out. A Black Belt is not something you wear. It’s something you grow into through discipline, courage, and the way you treat others.

Taekwondo has taught me to keep challenging myself, try new things, and stay determined even when something is hard (yes… even knuckle pushups). It also gave me a second family. My favorite memories aren’t just tests or tournaments—they’re beach days, camping, cooking, laughing, and growing together with the amazing K‑SPIRIT team.

Being a Black Belt means setting a good example, helping younger students, and becoming the kind of person I used to look up to. It means carrying the spirit of Taekwondo everywhere—at school, at home, and with friends.

And of course, thank you to all my Masters and Staff for guiding me and supporting me. I wouldn’t be here without you.

I’m proud to earn my 2nd Degree Black Belt—and I’m excited for the challenges ahead.

Hrisoula and Nikolaos came to visit us! Because of their family moving to New Jersey in June, they had to leave Team K-Spirit.

It broke our hearts to say goodbye to these two little gems who were always so bright, energetic, and dedicated to their training. Having them drop by like this—showing they haven't forgotten us—made our day so completely special.

Master Cho was deeply moved by the thoughtful, heartfelt gifts they prepared before leaving Bay Ridge. Every single gift reflected just how much the Liadis family truly loves Taekwondo and Team K-Spirit.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your love. We pray that the Liadis family is always blessed with vibrant health and endless happiness in your new home! 💕💕
