September fly fishing does not get much better than this. The crowds are gone, the water is clearing up, and the fish are actively feeding as temperatures drop.
If you have been putting off getting into fly fishing, fall is honestly one of the best times to start. The learning curve is real but the reward is worth every tangle. π

That bubble level on the scope is not just a nice-to-have. π―
Canting your r***e even a few degrees when shooting at distance can push your impact several inches off target, and most shooters never realize it is happening.
A level tells you the truth your body cannot always feel, especially when you are shooting from an awkward position or elevated terrain.
If you are building out a precision r***e setup for fall hunting season, this is one of the smallest investments that makes one of the biggest differences. π

Training around barricades and obstacles is a completely different skill set than flat range shooting. π―
Your body position changes, your sight picture changes, and your natural point of aim has to adjust on the fly. Shooters who only ever train on an open range often find themselves uncomfortable the moment they have to shoot from an awkward angle or partial cover.
August is a great time to push past your comfort zone and work on positions you have never practiced. π
