I help exhausted moms regain balance & energy, through mind, body, & soul work.

I am highly guilty of posting the prim and posed and edited “sweaty selfies” in the past…

Well friends, this ain’t one of them. 🤣

Bc quite honestly I had to yell, plead and bargain with myself to get off the couch this morning to do a 20 minute workout… and then I bi***ed at the trainer the entire workout bc she was too talkative. 🤣🤣

And did I mention It was a cardio workoit and that I’ve been avoiding cardio like the plague for the past couple of YEARS? 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

I don’t know why I’m sharing this. Maybe it will serve as motivation for someone who is having a mindset moment too today… maybe it’s for those of you who hate cardio - we can form a support group or something… 🤣

But- like always, I DO feel much better now. Less groggy, less grouchy, still hate cardio- but proud I got off my ass.

Happy Saturday ya’ll! I hope you do something good for your soul today- even if you don’t feel like it! 💜😘

First competition of the season is done, and as always, we are so very proud of our little dancer. 💜💜💜

She shined bright and placed 6th on her very first solo on Friday night, and her team followed suit and was absolutely beautiful on Saturday…

Nora also LOVES the convention side of our competitions and was recognized by a bunch of the dance instructors earning her a full scholarship to the convention next year. 🙌🏻

She shows up and works hard and it’s just very awesome to see the progress and passion she has for dance!!

Proud mom and dad right here! 💜💜💜

First convention of the year and Nora shined so bright… It’s truly the best thing in the world when you can watch your children do what brings them so much joy. 💜

She was asked to do the Jazz dance infront of the entire class… and then her Hip Hop teacher asked to do the dance he taught them with HER. My heart almost exploded when he said he wanted to dance with her because she reminded him of himself at her age.

AND… she was awarded a scholarship for next years’ convention.

Yes… I’m bragging about my kid, but honestly I don’t care. I’m so damn proud and she works so freaking hard… I just loved watching her be a mentor to the younger girls today too who danced with their whole hearts as well.

Okay I’m done… enjoy some Nora sass! 💜

Just a little celebratory post… as i’m finally, officially a Licensed Professional Counselor. 💜

I graduated from garduate school at Shippensburg University 15 years ago… This licensure takes two years to finish… but as we know- my journey has been anything but “straight and narrow”, and I honestly wouldn’t have it any other way.

Every job experience, and most importantly, every LIFE EXPERIENCE has brought me to where I am right now…. A part of a beautiful team of spirited and talented counselors who are focused on helping our clients to find healing in this lifetime. 💕 There is nothing more beautiful than this.

If you’re looking for a counselor- we have immediate availability at Mountain Top Counseling- both in-person in our Carlisle office and virtual (for the entire state of PA).

Send me a message or reach out to our office manager, Dana, at 570-980-1940 or [email protected] 💜💜💜

Another dance weekend in the books. This weekend we were at NYCDA in Hershey and the dancing was absolutely beautiful- for ALL who danced! 💜

We are so proud of our Carlisle Dance Company for their hard work and dedication as our team was hit with the flu pretty hard this week, but still showed up in all of their dances. They just love what they do, and it shows!

AND our fierce little Nora was recognized and given the chance to attend an intensive in NYC… Her willingness to put herself out there is inspiring to me every day. Such a proud momma (and dance fam momma too)!💜

We aren’t made to be able to hold space for everyone and everything.

We aren’t. 💜

So if you’re feeling depleted this week because of all that’s happening in this world… or maybe just because of work stress or just because you’re going through a tough place right now, please remember this:

•It’s okay to cancel plans because you’re feeling drained.
•It’s okay to prioritize yourself.
•It’s okay to not answer your phone when your bestie or your mom calls.
•It’s okay to take a mental health day.
•It’s okay to lay on the couch and not do a damn thing.
•It’s okay to soak in the tub until you’re a prune.
•It’s okay to cry or scream or inappropriately laugh OR make yourself a random hot chocolate at 7pm on a Thursday night (this one seems oddly specific 😂🙋🏻‍♀️).

…It’s also okay to talk to a counselor who can hold space for you. 💜

In my opinion…

Space needs to be made first before we can have it to hold for others (and sometimes our own “stuff”). And taking care of yourself, setting healthy boundaries, and learning to both recognize and listen to your body when it’s telling you to slow the hell down… are all great ways to start to make space for YOU.

How are you holding space for you right now?

And as always we have openings at for both virtual and in person counseling in Carlisle and in northeastern PA. Message me for more info or reach out to our office manager Dana at 570-980-9140.

I was laying in yoga class today “noticing”…

Noticing how my body was feeling and any thoughts and emotions that were connected to it- and this came up:

“I feel like there is something I HAVE to release and that’s why I have a soreness in my hips.”

Which made me think about how much pressure we put on ourselves to “get better” and “figure it out” and “do more”… and how heavy that can feel.

And how much lighter it feels for me to allow myself to be where I’m at vs. constantly feeling the need to fix, and grow, and do better.

Just let myself BE.

And how BE-ing isn’t NOT prioritizing myself or wanting to work through whatever comes up…

But it’s a hell of a lot nicer way of treating myself, releasing judgement of myself, and just allowing myself to be present and mindful and happy with where I’m at.

My hope for you is that just for today- you can find peace in your own body. 💜

(And if you’d like to learn how to hold space for yourself this way… we’re still accepting new clients (virtual and in person) at . Message me for more details or you can contact Dana at 570-980-1940.)
