Cooper Burns also named one of Maribyrnong Sports Academy's Hockey Athletes of the decade 👏

A fantastic recognition for Coop alongside Connar Otterbach, both former MSA students, which is a Specialist Sports School that many Altona players and state hockey players have attended.

Connar Otterbach named one of Maribyrnong Sports Academy's Hockey Athletes of the decade 👏

Another incredible achievement and recognition for Connar (which he has received alongside Cooper Burns!), this one from MSA, which is a Specialist Sports School that many Altona players and state hockey players have attended.

MSA Athlete of the Decade: Connor Otterbach.

Cultivating his exceptional defensive prowess at the Maribyrnong Sports Academy, he has developed a reputation for neutralising the world's top strikers.

As a homegrown talent for Altona Hockey Club and a premier midfielder for Hockey Club Melbourne, his explosive skills have transformed defence into a potent offensive force.

Having dominated the FIH Pro League circuit, he recently represented Australia in the 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup campaign in Europe. A Kookaburras international and defensive stalwart, we extend our congratulations to Connor on his remarkable achievements.

MSA hockey coach Chris Pearson accepted the award on Connor's behalf.

WOMEN'S PREMIER LEAGUE IN 2027

We're excited to announce that Clarke Rossiter will lead our Women's Premier League squad as the Head Coach for the 2027 season!

After joining AHC as WPL Assistant Coach in 2026, Clarke quickly became a highly respected member of the coaching team and a valued figure within the playing group. We're excited to see Clarke take the reins and continue to drive the growth and development of our WPL squad into next season.

Prior to joining AHC, Clarke has had successful stints as head coach of Footscray Men's Premier League Reserves and PEGS Men's Vic League 1. Clarke is also involved with the junior high performance programs with Hockey Victoria, recently working with Futures and U18 squads, and also has international coaching experience in England and The Netherlands.

We'd like to extend a sincere thank you to Stephanie Young, who has coached both WPL and WPLR over the past four years, and Joshua Coote, who stepped into coaching the WPL side this year. The commitment and effort they have given to the group has been significant, and we are incredibly grateful for their contributions.

Men’s Pennant E NW Premiers 🏆

What a way to finish the final game of the season as a club, taking out the premiership. It was a great game with the side able to overturn the qualifying final result and finish 4-1 winners. Despite the final scoreline, it was an extremely tight game with the score at just 2-1 with five minutes to play before a great finish in warm conditions put the game beyond doubt.

Goals: Vimal Surendran (2), Brian Fanning and Pablo Bianchi.

Well done to everyone involved with the team on a great season - and a huge thank you to the big crowd that turned out to support.

We're continuing to highlight our AHC playing representation in the upcoming Hockey One League - looking now to Hockey Club Melbourne we have Cooper Burns, Connar Otterbach, and Nye Roberts. The trio are returning to HC Melbourne after an extremely successful couple of years with back-to-back Hockey One Premierships and will be striving to continue that dominance into the 2026 season.

Player sponsorships play a vital role in supporting the players throughout the season. They're a fantastic opportunity for local businesses and our hockey community to get behind our players - check out the player profiles and the sponsorship packages below 👇
Every sponsorship contribution goes a long way in supporting the players - please share these with your wider community to help back Coop, Connar, and Nye through their Hockey One campaign!

FINALS WEEK 3

It's the final week, and we have our Men's Pennant E team through to the Grand Final! Following a convincing 5-0 win over Greensborough in last week's preliminary final, the team will face Essendon again. The two sides met in the opening week of finals where Essendon narrowly won in a shootout - so we're in for an exciting and close battle!

Our supporters are gathering at Lush Rooftop (near PEGS) from 11:30am before heading over to the game - all welcome, let's get a big crowd down for our final outdoor game of the year!

U12 Mixed Pennant NW Premiers 🏆

What a season from our U12 Boys team, finishing with 14 wins from 14 games, and a +95 goal difference - capped off with a 6-0 win in the Grand Final and six individual goal scorers!

What a team effort across the board, the Grand Final highlighting some incredible link-up passing and team play, as well as the effort that the boys have put in all year.

Well done to everyone involved on a fantastic year, and thank you to the big crowd turning out to support in the Grand Final.
