**Cross Country Season**

Hi families, the XC season runs from April to August. Our season is shared between Werribee, Brimbank and Williamstown centres, where we host 3 rounds each at our chosen location.

Please refer to the TeamApp notice from 7th March for more information, the distances by Age Group, and the LAVic events & opportunities.

We are seeking your interest by Tuesday 31st March - Please let us know if you're intending to attend the XC meets and whether you can help set up and marshall the course for Altona's rounds. This way we can prepare a duty roster for our 3 rounds. Indicatively (but TBC), the Altona rounds may be the 2nd May, 13th June and 25th July. Following the conclusion of our Championship Round yesterday we would love to give a massive shout out to all our magnificent PB superstars in season 2025-26.

We have had 4 Rockets hit 40+ PBs this year with 1 Rocket even getting very close to 50 which is an INCREDIBLE achievement! 💜💛 🚀

Details for our annual Presentation Day and AGM will be confirmed shortly on the Teams App and Facebook.

Please note: we will be handing out PB prizes at our Presentation Day for any Rockets who did not have an opportunity to collect theirs previously or reached another PB milestone following the Championship Day. Our 40 PB recipients will be presented with a special personalised Rockets medal on the day 🥰

Warm-up starts at 8.15am.
Events will start to be called from 8.30am.
Listen out for events called by their Event Number as well as their age group description (It's recommended that you write down the event numbers & events for your children)

All results will be in Results HQ, and tomorrow's results DO count towards season's PBs - so let's try for as many PBs as possible! Good luck athletes!

Food & Drink:
- Diana & Little Cobar will be in attendance with coffee;
- Canteen will be open;
- BBQ for sausage sizzle; and
- Don't forget to bring water and snacks as needed.

We are proud of our athletes for their achievements over the weekend at the LA Vic State Track & Field Championships at Knox, and for representing Altona Little Athletics. Austin, Harrison, Alex, Georgia, Oliver, Keely, Arthur, Zoe, Erika, Kalani and Lilly - You all did so well.

11 athletes, 5 medals to our U17s (Keely - 800m 1st & 1500m 2nd), Georgia - triple jump 2nd & long jump 3rd, Arthur - 3rd in the race walk), great results, and a bunch of personal bests. Keep training and keep enjoying athletics!

Our end of season, Championship Day, is being held on Saturday 14th March 2026. Please check your email or Team App (News, Events) for detailed information on how to register! A committee member can also help you - email [email protected] or ask us on Saturday!

This is a great opportunity for all Rockets to challenge themselves and aim to break their own PB's in different disciplines. Athletes are able to choose their own events to compete in on the day.

Registrations are via Results HQ (click the Nominations tab! Remember - just ignore the event times & "clashes" as we set the program once all registrations are received)

Whoa Jack Rayner! Did you know he’s even a former Altona Little Athlete? If you’ve ever seen him run you know he’s exciting to watch.

There’s lots to be inspired about today.

We said goodbye to a founding member, congratulated current athletes, and now we congratulate Jack Rayner.

Barcelona just witnessed something special. 🇦🇺⚡

Jack Rayner has gone where only one Australian man has gone before — breaking the 60-minute barrier for the half marathon, storming home in 59:51.

Sixth place in a stacked international field.

A new Australian benchmark.
And a massive leap from his previous best of 1:01:01.

Big stage. Big moment. Bigger statement.

Australian distance running is very much alive.

💛💜 We're very excited to congratulate the Letson girls, for their incredible achievements at the Athletics Victoria Track & Field Championship Feb 13-15.

Both Alexandra & Georgia have secured spots in the National Championships in Brisbane in April! Amazing work girls, and so rewarding to see your hard work paying off.

Vale Noel Deller

29/12/1936 - 07/02/2026
News comes to our centre of the recent passing of Noel Deller. Noel was a founding member of Altona LAC ( #41) in 1969. His efforts, inclusive of a stint as President, were recognised with Life Membership in 1977.

Active for many years at Centre, Region and State levels, Noel was made Life Governor of the Victorian Little Athletics Association in 1981 in recognition of his enormous contribution to our Little Athletics community.

On behalf of everyone at the centre, we send our condolences to Noel’s family, and acknowledge his many contributions to the club and the sport of Little Athletics in Victoria.
