Simple but effective.

What one do you rate most?

There are a number of reasons why I continue to do these endurance challenges.

The 58 marathons in 58 days across all 50 states of America and 8 states and territories of Australia have given me so much opportunity to continue building on the work that I did with the Man That Can project.

For that I am grateful

Don’t let the weather influence your commitment.

When I ran the 50 states of America in winter and 8 states and territories in Australia, every day the weather was different: freezing cold temperatures, blizzards, rain, and altitude but it didn't deter us from what we set out to achieve.

I know that as I embark on running across Australia in 2027, I'm going to be hit with a whole heap of other uncontrollables but the goal will still remain the same

Almost 10 years ago, I put up a post from Europe saying that when I got back to Brisbane, I was going to run a men’s circle.

I had no real plan.

I just knew I wanted better role models in my life and the opportunity to learn from men from different walks of life.

I wanted to see whether it was possible to earn good money, have the experiences I wanted, maintain my health and have a loving marriage.

Essentially, I wanted to know whether it was possible to design a life you love.

That one post grew into almost a decade of creating spaces for men, learning alongside them and finding opportunities to serve them and create a ripple effect.

Receiving the 40 Under 40 Social Impact Award was a nice feeling. It was nice to be recognised for work that began with me simply trying to improve my own life.

The biggest lesson is one I need again as I work towards running across Australia:

You do not need the whole plan before taking the first step.

Onwards and upwards.

Thank you for the support.

I’ve announced that I’m running across Australia.

Now comes the part where we work out how the hell to make it happen.

The route. The training. The crew. The funding. The Nullarbor. The climb into Toowoomba. And how I do all of this without giving my family the leftovers.

I don’t have every answer yet. Honestly, I’m sh****ng myself.

But it doesn’t need to be perfect to start.

This is where we begin building The Long Road Home.

My first Father’s Day

It’s been an incredible day. Being Freddie’s dad is one of the greatest privileges and experiences of my life.

Fatherhood has so many highs, and plenty of challenging moments too.

One of the biggest challenges has been trying to make time for our family and our marriage when we’re both run off our feet. The downtime we do get normally becomes the time we spend planning or trying to fit in all the tasks we didn’t get done before.

But I’m grateful for the little moments we get together. Whether it’s a quick walk and a coffee or a sauna together, those moments allow us to recharge and reconnect before we fire up and go again.

It’s a privilege to be a dad.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there.

Sydney didn’t disappoint.

This was so much more than a marathon. I wanted to test myself and see where I was at and that’s exactly what I got.

The excitement is always there at the beginning, but eventually the motivation wears off. All you have left is your willpower and the work you’ve already put in.

I started hurting pretty early in this race, but I knew I didn’t want to ease off.

You can see in nearly every photo that I’m only looking a couple of metres in front of me. I’m not thinking about how far I still have to go. I’m just focused on taking the next few steps.

The pain was real. The noise in my head was loud. But I kept moving—and walked away with a five-minute PB.

Looking back, there are plenty of lessons about how I can prepare better next time. But I also know this was another stepping stone in discovering what I’m capable of in this season of life.

And I’ve got to say… to every parent out there having a crack at a marathon: wowie.

Training for a marathon has been a lot more challenging since becoming a dad. But that’s also why I love it.

The challenge is the thing that builds the capacity.

Proud of this one. Sydney, thank you.

A lot can change in 12 months, but regardless of the results I get in my life, nothing is more important than my family.

It’s easy to get carried away when you’re in momentum, but the most rewarding thing is knowing that whether I’ve had the best day or a challenging one, I get to come home to these two.

What drives me has changed immensely since becoming a dad.

It used to be about proving to others what I could do and what success looked like. Now, it’s about being an example to my son that we’re capable of more.

My wife has been that example for me. I’ve watched her chase her dreams, build an incredible career and keep going through the highs and lows that come with it, while still prioritising our relationship through all of it.

That’s something I want my son to see too.

I want to show him that you can chase big things without forgetting what matters most. I want to show him how to treat the women in his life, how to treat people in general, and what a loving marriage looks like.

Life is one big adventure. It’s not perfect. There are mistakes along the way.

But f**k, I’m grateful.
