Support for Jacob's Brain Tumour Treatment
The ACT Oztag community is rallying behind one of our own. 💙💛
Many of you will know Jacob Redmayne, a passionate young sportsman who loves Oztag, basketball, footy, and supporting the Raiders.
Recently, Jacob was diagnosed with an extremely rare brain cancer, with only 12 reported cases worldwide.
The encouraging news is that treatment has been successful in the documented cases, and Jacob's medical team has recommended urgent Proton Beam Radiation Therapy, offering him the best chance of recovery while minimising long-term side effects.
Unfortunately, this treatment is not available in Australia, meaning Jacob and his family will need to travel to Sydney and the USA in the coming weeks.
Family and friends have established a GoFundMe page to help ease the significant financial burden of travel, accommodation, and living expenses, allowing the Redmayne family to stay together throughout Jacob's treatment journey.
Jacob's biggest question right now is simple: "When can I play Oztag again?" 💙💛
