This weekend is the annual Alivio Tourist Park Canberra June Long Weekend Carnival 🏑

Hockey ACT is excited to welcome teams, players, coaches, officials, and supporters from across Canberra and the region to the 2026 June Long Weekend Carnival!

From Saturday 6 June to Monday 8 June, Hockey ACT will play host to a fantastic weekend of hockey, bringing together athletes of all ages for three days of competition, development, teamwork and fun.

We wish all teams the very best for the tournament and thank everyone who has travelled to be part of this year's carnival. We hope you have a memorable and enjoyable weekend both on and off the field.

A huge thank you to our volunteers, officials, coaches, team managers and families whose support helps make events like this possible.

LGBTQ+ Education Session with Olympian Dominic Clarke 🏑🌈

Join us for an engaging and insightful evening as we welcome Olympian Dominic Clarke to Hockey ACT for a special LGBTQ+ Education Session.

Hear Dominic’s lived experiences in sport, learn what it means to be an active ally, and explore practical ways to create more inclusive, welcoming environments within your club, team, and our wider hockey community.

Hockey ACT is entering an exciting new chapter, and we're looking for passionate, innovative and driven people to help shape the future of hockey across Canberra and the surrounding region.

We are currently recruiting for three key leadership and management positions:

🏑 Chief Executive Officer (CEO) - Closing Date 18 June 2026
Lead Hockey ACT into its next phase of growth and success. Drive strategic direction, commercial opportunities, partnerships and community impact while championing the continued development of hockey across the ACT and surrounding regions.

🏑 Pathways Manager - Closing Date 5 June 2026
Lead the development of the next generation of athletes and coaches. This role oversees key pathway programs including the Canberra Regional Program, Indoor ACT Teams and ACT U14 & U16 State Teams, creating meaningful opportunities for participants to progress through the hockey pathway.

🏑 Participation & Engagement Manager - Closing Date 16 June 2026
Play a key role in growing and strengthening our hockey community. This position leads participation initiatives, member engagement, communications, inclusion programs and operational delivery, ensuring exceptional experiences for participants, clubs, volunteers and stakeholders.

Whether your passion lies in leadership, athlete development, community engagement or growing participation in sport, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact on hockey in the ACT.

Thank you to Serena Williams & Greg Joseph for welcoming us all and allowing the Hockey ACT community to embrace the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and take the opportunity to reflect on the importance of reconciliation.

It was a great weekend and it was awesome to see the round expand.
