Small Group PT sessions held in Drummonds & the Foreshore of Geraldton. Times available are before work and after work time slots as well as during school hours for mums. Classes vary but can consist of Boxing, Weights, Cardio and core strength.

When your client rocks up looking like Neapolitan ice cream and you decide it’s the perfect day to introduce an exercise that sets the core on fire… 🔥🍓🍦🍫 hope she doesn’t melt😂

This little beauty looks harmless, but don’t be fooled. Balancing on the bench while fighting against the pull of the weight challenges your core, stability and control all at once. Think bird dog with an evil twist.

It’s one of those exercises that makes you question your life choices halfway through, but the payoff is worth it. Stronger core, better balance and improved body awareness.

And on another note, today I received a simple “thank you” from a gentleman on the gym floor. He hadn’t stepped foot in a gym for years and admitted he felt uneasy coming back. Hearing him say that I’ve helped make his return an easy and comfortable experience was a reminder that sometimes the biggest wins aren’t measured in kilos lifted or calories burned.

Helping people feel welcome, capable and confident again is what it’s all about. ❤️

Truth be told, the sight of all those plates is enough to make me question my life choices. 😆

And then I have to add them up… which honestly scares the hell out of me more than the lift itself.

But as you can see… I can handle 160kg. 😎

Don’t be afraid to back yourself. Add a little more weight and see what your body says. What’s the worst that can happen? Maybe you only get one rep.

But what if you get 10?

Remember when you were little and your mum said, “There’s no such thing as can’t”?

Well… give the weight a crack.

You never know what you’re capable of unless you try.

Lift heavy. It gets your heart rate up, builds muscle, speeds up results and keeps you progressing instead of staying stuck with the same results week after week.

Stop chasing comfort and start chasing the numbers that intimidate you a little.

Because the things that scare you the most often end up giving you the biggest sense of achievement.

💪 Chase the scary number.
💪 Trust your body.
💪 Surprise yourself.

✨ StrongHER is more than just a workout… it’s about building confidence. ✨

Our ladies are getting hands-on experience with 10–12 different pieces of equipment each session, learning how to use them correctly and gaining the confidence to walk back into the gym and use them again on their own.

Sessions are purposely scheduled during the quietest times in the gym, creating a relaxed and welcoming environment where women can learn, ask questions and train without feeling intimidated.

The feedback so far has been amazing, and the ladies are loving the program and looking forward to every session! 💜

When you see me in the gym, half the time I’m doing maths, adding up plates and wondering, “That can’t be right!” 🤔

Sometimes I’m squinting at my training program without my glasses, trying to work out what I lifted last week. Other times I just think, “Let’s put it on and see what happens!”

And even after years of training and working as a personal trainer, I still have that little voice in my head saying, “Can I do this? What if I can’t? That number seems HUGE! And I second guess my abilities.”

But this week I surprised myself and hit a new PB of 90kg. 💪

The truth is, confidence doesn’t come before you start. Confidence comes from showing up, trying, and proving to yourself that you’re capable of more than you think.

So if you’ve ever felt nervous walking into a gym, worried about doing something wrong, or thought everyone else has it all figured out, I promise you’re not alone. Even trainers have those thoughts!

StrongHER officially kicked off last week and what an amazing first session it was! 💪✨

After getting familiar with the leg press, chest press machine and cable exercises, the ladies finished with some core work on the mats and some well-deserved stretching.

And the feedback has been priceless:

Bulgarian Split Squats – One of the best exercises for building stronger legs and glutes 🍑

The Bulgarian split squat is a single-leg exercise, which means each leg works independently. This helps improve balance, stability, coordination, and can highlight and correct strength imbalances between sides.

Compared to a standard lunge, the elevated back foot allows for a greater range of motion and places more load through the working leg. This creates a bigger challenge for your glutes, quads, hamstrings, and core, while also improving hip mobility and lower-body strength.

✅ Set the bar in the rack at around shoulder height.

✅ Place a hip thrust box or bench behind you and start with bodyweight or light weight until you can control the movement and achieve good depth.

✅ Lift your back foot onto the bench and make sure you’re balanced and stable before starting.

✅ As you lower down, lean your torso slightly forward and think about bringing your back calf towards your hamstring, as if you’re trying to squash an orange between them.

✅ Keep your front knee tracking over your toes and avoid letting it collapse inward.

The magic happens at the bottom of the movement, where your glute is under the greatest stretch and tension. A stretched muscle under load is a powerful stimulus for muscle growth, so focus on controlling the descent and achieving as much depth as your mobility allows.

Drive through your front foot to return to the starting position.

Once you can comfortably perform 8–10 quality reps per leg, gradually increase the weight.

Remember: quality movement first, heavier weight second. Strong legs and glutes are built through control, consistency, and a full range of motion.
