This year athletes will complete a series of profiling assessments starting from the physiotherapy screening all the way through to sprints and change of direction.
Once they finish all of their testing, they will receive a PDF report essentially like a report card. This will showcase the athletes overall physical profile in a visual presentation.
Highlighting where they are strongest while also showing the priorities of what to work on through the off-season.
This helps close the gap between what the coach sees, the what and why of athletes program and the athlete understanding the game plan.
Profiling starts September 14th!

With the additional time available in the off-season, video review of your own technique will play a large role.
In the early phases where we focus on pure speed. Athletes can sprint, rest 2-4 minutes, review technique, go again.
Compared to the large time constraints athletes can have week to week with their team, we can take our time and push to make real lasting changing in the athletes sprint mechanics.

Speed and agility will be a large part of the Rugby Off-Season field sessions.
All of the speed and change of direction work will be put to the test each week with exposures to progressive agility drills.
Still having opportunity’s to have the ball in hand and developing your game speed skill set.

The next few Perform podcast episodes will be breaking down the seperate Rugby, Footy and Basketball groups that will be training together over the off-season.
Separating these groups allows the coaches to push a higher standard and higher level of development. Creating a space for those athletes wanting to push for higher representation or contracts.
Each of these groups will be training together on the field or court, seperate to our Development, Rehab and Youth groups.
First up will be for Rugby Union/League athletes with Kyle Wyatt- Strength & Conditioning Coach and Isaac Davidson: Strength & Conditioning Coach
Not every athlete is a huge fan of the gym.
Although the off-season is too valuable of a window to miss.
Keith discusses an athlete that ‘hated the gym’ but they sat down, found a routine and structured his off-season in a way that he enjoyed it. It paid off big time this year.
Understand heading into this off-season, individualisation is key. Finding a plan based off your history, your body, your scheudle and your preferences is where you can really find the consistency for maximising results.

The off-season is that platform that allows you to build the ceiling of your physical capacities.
Compounded off-season and ticking off 1,2,3 big off-seasons is where athletes really start to see some serious changes.
