Meet Jackie 📸🐾💪🏼
"Work
Coach at Third Circle, receptionist at Legion13, a little bit of dog grooming from home, and some photography when I have spare time ☺️
Family and pets
I’m a mum to 2 boys, Mitchell and Kaden… both have grown into amazing young men I'm proud of. Dog mum to Murph, who pretty much everybody knows ☺️ And partner to Bryan, who I went to high school with — we met up again 13 years ago at a reunion ❤️
Go‑to cheat meal or snack
I don’t really believe in cheat meals — everything is fine in moderation. Snack‑wise, I’m a sweet tooth and can’t go past a packet of Skittles ☺️
History of training
As a kid I did little athletics from age 7 to 13, competing most years at states in walk, high jump, long distance and discus. As I got older I was a massive netballer. I’ve done a few half marathons, lots of 12kms, and in recent years CrossFit has been my go‑to.
Why I like Third Circle
After the closure of the other gym a few of us were at, I felt completely lost, and if I’m honest, I sunk into a bit of a depression… Third Circle has changed all of that. It just feels like Home ❤️ it was born out of a bit of adversity, and I think that’s bonded everyone together even more.
Fun facts
I held the 1500m Australian walk record for U13s until only a few years ago… I can almost walk faster than I can run ☺️ I’m also the CrossFit world champion in the 50–54 age category for Masters HQ 2019.
Favourite & worst movements
Favourite is anything gymnastics, especially BMU or RMU… not that I can do them these days, but they were fun when I could. Worst would have to be thrusters and burpees — the only time I’ve ever cried in a CrossFit workout 🥲😆
Training or life goals
These days my training is about keeping going and moving for as long as I can as I’m getting older. There was a time I hated scaling anything and everything was RX even if it took me twice the time cap… now I’m 100% fine with scaling according to my abilities and how my body feels on the day."
