Meet Ms. Amy 💜 | Competitive Acro

Her dance story started at just 3 years old.

From her very first recital, Ms. Amy was captivated by the senior dancers on stage and knew she wanted to be up there one day, too.

By 9, she was competing in ballet and exploring almost every dance style she could find. At 12, she trained at the National Ballet School of Canada, where she discovered how much she loved learning from different teachers and exploring new styles.

That curiosity never stopped. Auditions, conventions, workshops, new teachers, new skills — Ms. Amy said YES to it all.

At 17, she moved to New York City to train full-time at the Joffrey Ballet School, performing in New York Fashion Week, Ivivva Athletica commercials and other professional productions. Along the way, she discovered another passion: choreography.

When a genetic connective tissue disorder brought her professional performing career to an unexpected end, it opened the door to something she loves just as much — teaching.

Today, Ms. Amy leads Revolution Dance’s Competitive Acro Program, helping dancers work toward skills they once thought were impossible.

And perhaps the best part?

Watching that moment when a dancer finally gets the skill they've been working so hard for… and seeing their confidence grow right along with it. ✨

Nine years of growing the Competitive Acro Program, countless skills mastered, and so many dancers encouraged to believe in themselves.

We feel incredibly lucky to have Ms. Amy inspiring the next generation of performers. 💜

Meet Your Dance Teacher ✨ Mr. Kale

“I saw my sister dance when I was 5 and thought, ‘That’s cool, I want to try it out.’”

What started as curiosity quickly became a passion. As Mr. Kale continued dancing, he discovered the joy of Hip Hop and the freedom that comes from expressing yourself through movement.

Dance became the perfect outlet to combine creativity, music, and individuality. It gave him a way to share ideas and emotions through movement — creating something that goes beyond words.

With a love for music and a passion for helping dancers discover their own style, Mr. Kale brings energy, creativity, and encouragement into every Hip Hop class.

He loves creating a space where dancers can build confidence, have fun, and feel comfortable being themselves while growing their skills.

We are so excited to have Mr. Kale sharing his passion for Hip Hop with the Revolution Dance Calgary community. 💜
