What a week, the first full week of 2026 and I am blown away by everybody’s hard work…. Now to keep momentum!
Often I tell my clients that to get fitter/be faster/become stronger you need to step out of your comfort zone!! I am terrible at these self promotional/self fulfilling posts but I made a promise to a client friend this week that I would do better. So here goes…
This week I have seen:
🔵 16 individual one2one clients
🔵 a whooping 64 individuals within a group environment (either cycle, yoga or circuit classes)
🔵 6 of these people joined me online from the comfort of their own home via Zoom
🔵 many more in the gym or studio for chats, spotting at the bench or help and support with a new exercise they were trying.
A massive thank you to these amazing spaces that allow me to do the thing I love:

😊
Tonight I met this lovely chap, Ray Redman Fitness , at The Park Health Club in Hook. He takes the Recovery Yoga classes. As I was doing this class, I was thinking that one of my clients might enjoy this class and maybe one day she will be well enough for me to bring her down here. Earlier today, I took this client to physiotherapy at the hospital where she was told that it was her commitment to yoga and staying mobile that has helped her recover so well from her recent fall.
The physiotherapist was amazed at the progress she has made and sees that her strength and flexibility is a result of a long term yoga practice as well as her consistency in doing the exercises she has been given. This made me think that more people should know about the classes at The Park that could be really good for older people. There was a lady who was 75 in this class today. She told me that she does yoga twice a week. She told me this by using text on her phone, explaining that Motor Neurone Disease has stopped her from being able to talk but she is grateful that she can still drive and come to yoga. I had made a friend before the class had even started.
This class was so gentle and Ray’s delivery is so relaxing and reassuring, stressing that everyone should leave their ego at the door and work in a way that helps their own body and ignore what others can do. The class was sprinkled with words of wisdom that would be relevant to everyone and every activity.
I know that they are also running strength classes for older people and have seen some amazing progress from people who only started working out later on in life and are now stronger and fitter than they ever have been. What better incentive is there?
I am hoping that my lady who fell might one day make it back to yoga, and if she does, this would be a great place to start. Meanwhile, she will carry on doing her exercises and I will carry on taking her to and from the physio.
Hook Home Help is helping older people to live happily and healthily, and to stay as independent as possible for as long as possible. Sometimes this involves helping in the home and sometimes we are out and about. We are always helping different people in different ways. Feel free to message me if you would like to know more

It’s been a hot minute but we back… Although we never really left!
Every Tuesday evening we turn up to The Wellbeing Hub for circuits with no two weeks ever being the same… but this evening I dusted off the and the team put them through their paces! It was awesome 🙌🏼

Looking to improve your cycling performance?
I am yet to meet someone more dedicated to achieving not only his own goals but yours too… I’ve been unlucky enough to see him pretty low, lucky enough to see him bounce back and privileged enough to work alongside him… I’ve been passed by him in TTs, tried to hold his wheel in club rides and laughed with him on the trails. Will can ride cycling disciplines better than most (actually I reckon I could beat him round a BMX track!) and understands what it takes to be at the pointy end of the races.
Still serious about your own performance, contact Will. You won’t regret it!
Remember….
You have not become what you are today as a result of what you did yesterday. It’s the culmination of many days, weeks and months that have brought you to this point.
To reach a new goal will require consistency, commitment and change.
Get in touch to see how we can help.

Did you know that regularly practicing Yoga has been found to ease the symptoms of arthritis and other body pains whilst relaxing the mind, centre attention and sharpen concentration.
Regular Yoga promotes self care, putting us in the here and now rather than the there and then helping to improve mental clarity and calmness whilst improving strength, balance and mobility.
From beginner to more advanced, Yoga offers modifications of all moves to help suit your ability. Be prepared to leave your ego at the door and listen to your bodies feedback to adjust the asanas to suit your bodies needs. If you have been thinking of adding Yoga to your weekly routine please get in contact to find out when and where I teach. Still nervous and would rather try the sessions from the comfort of your own home then please shout as all my sessions are available live online via Zoom too.
If all of the above wasn’t enough then these sessions also connect you with a like minded community which I believe is the very best part and can whole heartedly recommend.

Week two of fifty two, good habits and consistency determine our success. What daily habits would you like to improve or maybe remove to help you on your journey?
The first week of a New Year comes with so much pressure and an expectation that we should be full of energy after the festive break. The truth is the festive break is exhausting and breaks up an old routine, it takes time and energy to get back into that routine whilst also trying to think about what we want to achieve this New Year. Take a breath, stop being so hard on yourself and remember how awesome you are.
This week sees the rest of my classes re start along with some new… Power Yoga being one! This short 30 or 40min session is designed to build strength and endurance whilst developing coordination and mobility. Expect to bring your heart rate up to that similar of a brisk walking pace for those all important calorie burning benefits too.
These sessions are available both in person and online at the following times and venues:
📍Tuesday at 1730 at the Wellness Hub in Andover and online via Zoom - 30mins.
🎥 Thursday at 0645 via Zoom - 40mins
As always if you have any questions then please do not hesitate to shout, thank you all so much for your support.
