π MATCH REPORT π
Bangor 3 met Mid Ulster 2 at Bangor Academy on Tuesday 10th March. Bangor opened the game with confident defensive pressure, as Charlie Clarke (GD) and Shannon Garvan (GK) combined for multiple turnovers that set the tone early. Their efforts helped Bangor finish the first quarter 12-7.
In the second quarter, Bangorβs mid-court players Lorne Logan (C), Clair OβConnor (WA) and Olivia McMullan (WD) showed great control and composure, moving the ball swiftly down the court, extending the lead to 24-13 at half time.Β
Tactical changes in the third quarter saw Paige Girvan come on at WA and Maja Zablocka at WD, injecting fresh energy and helping to create more scoring opportunities for the attacking duo of Mia Graham (GA) and Jenny Graham (GS). The shooters made full use of the opportunity, pushing Bangor further ahead to 37-20.
In the final quarter, Felicity Morrow slotted into GK and the team continued to look solid across the court, maintaining their rhythm and finishing strongly with a 44-25 victory.

π MATCH REPORTπ
Bangor 1 took on Banbridge 1 on a Friday evening in what proved to be a competitive and well-fought match.
β¨Bangor came out strong with the whole court working well together from the first whistle. The defensive line-up of Miki Dunlop (GK), Erin Young (GD) and Rebecca Mayne (WD) worked brilliantly to stop many Banbridge attacks, putting pressure on every pass and winning several turnovers. In midcourt, Lynda Perkins (C) and Aimee Trainor (WA) linked play smoothly, moving the ball swiftly into the shooters Rachael Gowdy (GA) and Ali McClune (GS), who finished confidently.β¨End of Q1: 7-17
β¨Banbridge came back fighting in the second quarter, increasing the intensity and challenging Bangor across the court. Bangor stayed calm under pressure, continuing to work the ball patiently through midcourt while the defence maintained strong pressure. Both teams battled hard for possession as the game remained close heading into halftime.β¨Halftime Score: 17-31
Then came the tactical shake-up. Anna Devany stepped into GS, Amelie Reid came into GA and Rachael moved out to WA.
Now in theory this was a very sensible positional change. In practice⦠there were a few moments where Rachael⩠appeared to forget she was no longer allowed in the shooting circle and had to be gently reminded that WA life happens slightly further away from the post. Aimee moved into C and Lynda shifted into WD. Fresh legs and new combinations kept the game competitive as both teams battled hard. Third qtr: 28-50
β¨The final quarter was a great team effort. Bangor maintained strong defensive pressure, quick movement through the midcourt and composed shooting in the circle. Communication across the court helped the team push through the final minutes of a competitive match.
Final Score: 37-71
π POTM - Miki Dunlop π
A big thank you to Shannon for coaching, guiding the team throughout the match and for reminding Lynda that netball is best played shaken, not stirred πΈ
