Received this incredibly cute little monkey made be one of our student as a leaving gift this week. ๐
It's always sad to see a student go, but life evolves, things change, people move house (she's off to the Big smoke!), change jobs etc
One of the best things about social media is I can stay connected with you all and see what your up to.
It's always so great to get a little visit/message from students who I haven't seen for a while...
I LOVE to see what your all up to.
I've no idea how many people I've taught over the years but its a lot!
I've been doing this teaching malarkey for thirty years now!
I told my class this morning this and they gave me a little round of applause ๐
I'm celebrating this achievment by collecting stories from you all...
If you've studied with my at any point over the last 30 years and would be willing to share your story with me - I'd love to hear it.

We've got quite a few new followers, so thought I better introduce myself to you all!
Hiya!
I'm Alice, and it's me behind all this Monkey Business ๐๐๐
I wasn't the sporty kid at school, but I've always enjoyed movement, I started pretty young with dance and swim lessons, and I basically never stopped...
I've been teaching for 30 years!
In one form or another I've been sharing that joy and passion for moving my body with others, mostly via wide variety of group exercise methods.
Because not only do I strongly believe we need to move daily but I also believe that we are stronger together. The power of just a few people getting together with a common aim is not to be underestimated.
Anyways this is the last call for my 2nd ever Breath-work, Sauna & Cold Plunge session tomorrow, think everybody who came to the first one is coming back so guess they liked it!
Link to book is in the comments below ๐
AND HUGE CALL OUT - I wanna connect with as many of my students from the last 30 years as possible!
Please reply to this post or send me a DM and share with others.
I'm especially keen to hear from those of you that feel I had a big impact or your life.
Happy Saturday Folks

It might be another hot one this week!
Think some of our students only really came to their sessions during the last hot period to be in the air-conditioned studio!
Yes! We have air-con, so all our sessions are running as normal and as always we encourage our students to listen to their bodies and adjust their schedule and training as they feel is right for them.
One of the advantages of working out regularly is that you have the capacity to adjust when things deviate from the norm.

Trapeze is another great place for beginners to start, whether itโs your first time touching a trapeze bar or youโre looking to build your experience. Trapeze training has a lot to offer; many moves from other aerial equipment feature on the Trapeze too!
Its kinda like a big swing, the two ropes can be used and you have the bar at the bottom, to sit on, stand on, roll around, hang under. Perfect for kids of all ages to play on!

Aerial hoopโalso known as Lyraโis another great way for newbies to start their aerial journey. As if the Hoop is rigged low, then it easy to get into and there are many pretty simple and simply pretty shapes you can make. As you start to develop your confidence you can work towards trickier shapes and combinations. Itโs a fantastic way to build upper body strength, core stability, and flexibility while learning to move gracefully through the air.

We've had a lot of messages asking us about the different forms of Aerial Training recently. So thought we do a little series on the one's we teach here at Funky Monkey.
So first up, Aerial Sling - This is a great discipline for beginners as the fabric can provide support for many shapes, and getting little combos together is relatively easy, it's got so much potential and as your strength grows you's be able to do more challenging tricks and longer combinations.
We rig it here with a swivel which means you can spin making your flows looking even more fantastic.

They say the best time to start was yesterday, but the second best time is right now. In all honesty, there is no 'perfect' moment to begin. You just have to take that first step. Whoโs ready to try something new with us next week?
