Another brilliant evening at the Spotters Hockey Summer Performance Academy 🏑🔥

Tonight’s focus was on the phases of the game and the highly skilled actions that create success under pressure:

Players worked on:
✔️ Passing & receiving to play forward
✔️ Intercepting and defending space
✔️ Closing down attackers and dictating play
✔️ Man-marking and recognising different defensive strategies

From small-sided end zone games to overload attacking scenarios and competitive match play, the intensity and quality stayed high throughout 💪

What a start to SPA26 🔥

Our first Spotters Hockey Summer Performance Academy session delivered exactly what it’s all about - high energy, high skill, and players fully engaged from the first whistle to the last.

From U10 through to U16, players got stuck into game-based warm-ups focused on vision, reactions, and evasion, before sharpening skills to create opportunities to attack, with deceptive movements to create space and beat defenders.

The second half brought it all together with rotations across technical, tactical, and small unit play. From conditioned games to overloaded counter-attacks, every player was challenged to dictate, compete, and win moments.

Great effort, brilliant attitude, and some seriously exciting hockey on show 💥

Coaches wrapped up with key learning points, setting the tone for what promises to be an outstanding summer.
