After coaching hundreds of business owners, I’ve noticed something.
The happiest business owners aren’t necessarily the wealthiest.
They’re the ones whose businesses give them choices.
Choice over:
✔ their time
✔ the people they work with
✔ where they invest
✔ how they spend their lives.
Money is important.
Freedom is priceless.
And that’s why I coach.
What would having more financial freedom allow you to do that you can’t do today?
ActionCOACH Northern Ireland

What Does Financial Freedom Mean to You?
For some business owners...
It’s retiring early.
For others...
It’s taking six weeks off each year.
Or paying off debt.
Or investing for the future.
Or simply sleeping better at night.
Profit isn’t the destination.
It’s the vehicle that helps you build the life you want.
One question I often ask my clients is:
“What is your business really here to give you?”
The answers are rarely just about money.
Finish this sentence...
“My business gives me the freedom to __________.”

Years ago, I coached a business owner who was convinced they couldn't increase prices.
We tested a modest increase with one part of the business.
The result?
Customers hardly noticed.
Profit increased significantly.
Confidence grew.
Sometimes the biggest barrier to higher profits isn't the market...
It's our own assumptions.
Have you reviewed your pricing this year?
Are You Charging Enough?
This is one of the most uncomfortable conversations I have with business owners.
Many price according to…
❌ competitors
❌ fear
❌ what they think customers want.
Instead, ask:
✔ What value do we deliver?
✔ What experience do we provide?
✔ What profit do we need to remain healthy?
The cheapest business rarely wins in the long term.
The business that creates the most value usually does.
Remember:
Price is what people pay.
Value is what they receive.
When was the last time you reviewed your pricing?

One of my favourite Warren Buffett quotes is: "Only when the tide goes out do you discover who's been swimming naked."
Business is much the same. During good times, almost everyone looks successful.
But when conditions become tougher…
strong cashflow,
good systems
and sound leadership...
make all the difference.
The businesses that survive uncertainty aren't usually the lucky ones. They're the prepared ones.
What's one financial habit you've introduced that's made your business stronger?

One of the biggest surprises for many business owners is this:
A business can be profitable, and still run out of money.
Why?
Because cashflow and profit are completely different.
For example:
✔ You make a £20,000 sale today.
✔ Your customer pays you in 60 days.
✔ Your suppliers and staff need paying this week.
That's why cashflow forecasting is one of the most important disciplines in business.
I encourage every client to ask themselves:
• Who owes me money?
• What bills are due?
• What does my cash position look like in 13 weeks' time?
Do you regularly forecast your cashflow, or mainly check your bank balance?

One of the biggest myths in business is…
More sales = More success.
Not always.
I've seen businesses that doubled turnover and made less profit.
I've also worked with businesses that increased turnover by just 15%...but doubled their profit.
The difference?
Better pricing.
Better systems.
Better financial decisions.
Turnover is exciting. Profit is what changes lives.
This month, don't just chase more sales. Build a business that's genuinely more profitable.
If you could improve just one financial measure this year, what would it be?
Do you know your four most important business numbers?
Many business owners tell me, “My accountant looks after the numbers.”
But here’s the problem…
Your accountant mainly reports on the past. As the business owner, you need numbers that help you shape the future.
I encourage every client to know these four figures:
1. Revenue
How much money is coming into the business?
2. Gross Profit Margin
How much are you making before overheads?
3. Net Profit
What’s actually left after all the bills are paid?
4. Cash in the Bank
Because profitable businesses can still run out of cash.
Knowing these four numbers every month gives you confidence to make better decisions.
As Peter Drucker famously said: “What gets measured gets managed.”
Which of these four numbers do you look at most often?

Every business faces pressure. But leadership isn’t tested when things are smooth sailing - it’s revealed when the pressure is on.
What separates good managers from great leaders is how they respond to the hard days. The messy quarters. The unexpected pivots.
Your biggest challenges don't break your leadership; they shape it.
What is one business challenge that completely redefined how you lead?
Strong leaders don’t avoid pressure; they manage it well by:
✔ Prioritising clearly.
✔ Focusing on facts.
✔ Avoiding emotional reactions.
✔ Slowing down decision-making when needed.
Calm leadership creates confident teams.
