Outreach Update ~ Tuesday 31st March 2026

Dry bright evening tonight, with a large crowd waiting on us. Very busy again, lots more new faces, but troublefree and everyone very grateful for everything.

Julie was being nurse this evening. She dressed two pretty bad looking finger and wrist injuries. One in particular looked like it required urgent hospital treatment. She did her best with both, gave them extra dressings and advised one person to seek help from the A&E.

Tonight on the menu we had double cheeseburgers, sausages and mash with either spaghetti hoops or vegetables, and hotdogs, all made by Frances K, Julie and Chelsea. Tommy and Frances M supplied the sandwiches, served along with a great donation of chicken kebabs, mini quiches and chicken strips. As always there was a steady flow of tea, coffee, water, juice and sweet treats to finish. All we had was gone by 7.30pm and a few late comers had to make do with pot noodles, the demand was so great.

Out tonight we had, Julie, Tommy, Laura, Frances K, Frances M and Chelsea. They worked hard this evening ensuring everyone was very well looked after and all their basic needs were met. They engaged with quite a few visitors and had some great chats as well as some craic along the way. Thanks to them all for their kindness, understanding and compassion, without judgement, towards those struggling with homelessness, addictions, mental health and vulnerability.

We also extend our thanks to Newforge Sports Complex and Event Hub for a fabulous donation of finger food that was a welcome help tonight given we had so many callers.

"One random act of kindness could be the difference between life and death. Save a life today"
