Casuals 03/08⚽️

Monday night means one thing at Fylde Community FC… Casuals!

The teams this week were Howarth’s XI vs Con’s XI and what a game we had!

Some quality football on show from both teams, Danny G opened the scoring for Howarth’s team before 5G equalised making the game 1-1. Goals went in for both teams with Ethan B scoring twice for Howarth’s team and Aidan and OSP scoring for Con’s seeing the game level at 3-3 around the half way point.

The game stayed at 3-3 for around 10-15 mins with chances at both ends showing the quality both teams were producing. Eventually the deadlock was broken when Aidan scored his 2nd of the night, but Bobby equalised shortly after seeing it all level again.

Con’s XI then took a 2 goal lead after Topping and OSP both scored heading into the last 5 minutes of the session. However Howarth’s XI wasn’t finished, 2 quick goals Josh S and a 3rd from Ethan B to complete his hattrick saw the game finish 6-6 for our first ever draw on a Monday night!

FT: Fylde Community FC 4-1 St Helens MvF 💙

Fylde made a great start to their ballers league campaign this weekend, securing a brilliant 4-1 win against St Helens MvF and gaining their first +3 points of the season.

The game started very cagey, with both sides going into the half time break at 0-0. However, it was in the second half that Fylde started to show their class - with Sam Hinds gaining a well deserved hat-trick and Jenson scoring a good improvised finish.

However, as usual, a credit to all the lads who played. Every player did not stop running and once again showed their great resilience!

At the end of the game, it was time for the penalty shootout (league rules to gain extra points) and Fylde won this 5-4. Scoring all 5 of their penalties and Howarth making a good save from a cheeky panenka from MvF.

Casuals 27/07⚽️

Great to see 18 lads down again for this Monday casuals session. Ever since we started this Monday session, we’ve consistently seen 18 lads get together for one purpose - playing football with the intention of bettering our mental healths.

A really high standard this week, with quality on both teams, which meant a really good game of football.

A really fast start from Team Non Bibs saw Aidan score twice early on, with Harrison adding a 3rd. Ethan D then pulled one back for Team Bibs, making the game 3-1 around the half way mark.

Quick fire goals from Aidan and OSP for Team Non Bibs and Ben Ches for Team Bibs saw it go 5-2. Then, a mix up at the back for Team Non Bibs meant Josh S could capitalise and squeeze it over the line to make it 5-3. Cal and Ben Ches both scored for Team Non Bibs and Team Bibs respectively, which saw it go to 6-4 in the space of a couple of minutes.

The last 15 minute of the session settled down, with some really good play between both teams. Goals from Josh Topping and Ethan D in the last few minutes saw the game finish 7-5 to Team Non Bibs💙

MOTM :-

Non Bibs: Cal Bridge - An excellent performance in midfield topped of with a goal sees Cal awarded the MOTM for Non Bibs.

Bibs: Ethan D - Another Superb performance in midfield and 2 great finishes sees Ethan take MOTM for Bibs, following his MOTM for the 11s on the weekend.

FT: Unity FC 4 - 4 Fylde Community Football Club

Fylde showed their comeback magic once, overcoming a 4 goal deficit to equalise with the last kick of the game.

It was a tough first half for Fylde, who played into their opponents hands. Despite having our own chances through Ben Chesworth, Ethan Burke and Samuel Hinds, we couldn’t find the net.

Unity took the lead, then doubled it not so long after through an unfortunate own goal trying to stop a cross. Taking us into half time 2-0 down. The hosts, added to their lead with two goals in quick succession at the start of the second half.

But we then showed our class, playing some good football on the floor and playing our own game.

After a bit of pinball in the middle, Sam Stemp’s clearance found Josh Topping on the right wing, Josh played a through ball to Noah who sent his defender with a chop and calmly finished, taking him to 10 goals for the year.

We added our second through Harley Calvert, taking it past the keeper and slotting home, a goalscoring return to the squad!

A third goal was scored through Liam Bradford, a trademark Samuel Hinds long throw which Liam scored with an unstoppable header.

And at the final hour we got our equaliser, Patrick Valentine played a superb ball to Harley Calvert who made it a brace, levelling the game for us in tremendous fashion

The boys showed real fight and character yet again, really proving the resilience of this group.

Shout outs to Harley Calvert and Ben Chesworth for their returns to action for Fylde.
