When you think watercolours, you might think 2D… not .createandplay ! 🌊🎨

This week at Kids Art Club, our young artists have been transforming watercolour paintings into 3D ocean worlds, using drawing, collage, looping paper, texture and construction to bring their ideas off the page.

From waves and sea creatures to mermaids and underwater scenes, every piece has been completely unique, full of colour, movement and imagination.
Painting, making, building and experimenting, just a typical afternoon at Goldfinch. ✨

Just LOOK at what our Kids Art Club have been creating! 🤩🎨

We absolutely love these fantastic projects, origami meets watercolour as the children create their own beautiful little rooms, soon to be filled with miniature handmade furniture! 🏠✨

Such a brilliant combination of art techniques, creativity and imagination, and the results are fantastic. We can’t wait to see these little spaces come to life! 💛

🎨 Our Art Parties have had a refresh! ✨

We’re very excited to share our new-look Goldfinch Art Parties, launching this autumn!

We’ve refreshed our party themes with lots of new creative ideas, materials and makes for children aged 2–13. Think colourful collage, construction, watercolours, jewellery making, sensory play, slime and plenty of experimenting along the way.

From ocean and rainbow crafts to reptiles, construction and slime, each party has been designed to give children the freedom to explore materials, make their own creative choices and leave with something that feels completely their own.

Because at Goldfinch, we don’t think 15 finished pieces of art should all look the same. 💛

Our parties are playful, relaxed and a little bit messy, just as making art should be!

🎨 New & refreshed themes
🌈 Parties for ages 2–13

We’re back to term time kids art clubs! 🎨✨

Kids Art Club returned this week with **watercolours**, and we loved hearing everyone share stories of their summer holiday adventures as they got creative together. ☀️🌊⛰️

At Goldfinch, we might introduce a theme, technique or idea to get things started, but children are always free to take their artwork in their own direction…and we love seeing where their imaginations lead them. 💛

And on that note… **can you spot the puppet?** 👀

Last week we had the pleasure of hosting another creative workshop with the wonderful mamas Project MAMA 💛

Together we celebrated the beauty of our native wildflowers by creating delicate tissue paper wreaths inspired by Oxeye Daisies, Field Poppies, Cow Parsley and Red Campion. Using simple paper-folding techniques, everyone crafted beautifully textured blooms before arranging them into unique wreaths to take home.

These sessions are always about so much more than making something beautiful. They’re a chance to connect, unwind, share stories and enjoy the process of creating together.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, we’re already looking forward to the next one. 🌸✨

Our magnetic wall is still inspiring so much playful experimentation at .createandplay 🙌✨

Every new configuration sparks curiosity and creativity. And in between all the making, there’s always time for play. 💛

Leaf printing at Kids Art Club 🌿🍃

A little look behind the scenes at the process and the beautiful finished clay pieces we’ve been creating over the last two weeks. The children explored pressing leaves, grasses and seed heads into clay to capture all the incredible textures and patterns found in nature.

It’s also the perfect time of year to head outside and collect a wonderful variety of leaves, grasses and seeds, you never know what treasures you’ll find! 🍂

We love helping children slow down, look closely and turn everyday natural finds into something truly special.
