There’s always something new to learn about your bike.

Mike booked himself a 2-hour 1-to-1 session with Dave, our Workshop Manager, as a birthday treat.

Despite many years of cycling and maintaining his own bike, Mike said he’d never quite mastered adjusting a derailleur system for smooth gear changing, so the session was all about building confidence, understanding how it all works, and getting hands-on with setup and adjustment.

We love sessions like these because cycling isn’t just about riding, it’s about a deeper understanding of how your bike works and enjoying the process of learning new skills along the way.

A big thanks to Mike for spending the morning with us, and for reminding us that no matter how long you’ve been riding, there’s always something new to discover.

Outspoken Cycles, we’re all about helping more people enjoy getting around by bike, whether that’s finding the right cargo bike, keeping your wheels turning with our repairs, or bringing a bit of fun to events with our pedal-powered activities.

We loved being part of Eco Fair for Earth Day celebrations in Bishop’s Stortford, supporting the Bishop's Stortford Town Council in championing sustainability and looking after our planet.

And the best bit? The unexpected moments.

One couple, who’d just met on a layover at the airport, ended up exploring the town together… which led them to our pedal-powered Scalextric, and even a chance meeting with the Mayor!

Just goes to show cycling (and a bit of pedal power!) has a funny way of bringing people together 💚

We support local organisations with things like mobile Dr Bike sessions and pool bike maintenance, helping keep bikes safe, checked over, and ready to ride.

We recently spent time with Abbey People, a brilliant community charity in Cambridge, running a bike maintenance demonstration.

They do wonderful work in the community, including running repair cafés with Cambridge Carbon Footprint, helping people repair and reuse rather than throw things away.

It’s always great to see people getting excited about bikes, getting stuck in, and asking questions so they can get to know their bikes better.

If your cargo bike needs a repair but getting it to us is tricky, we can help.

We offer a collection service for cargo bikes, so you don’t have to worry about how to get it to the workshop.

Once it’s ready, you can either collect or we can drop it off, so it’s as straightforward as possible.

We work on all bikes, from everyday commuters, e-bikes, road, mountain and gravel bikes through to cargo bikes, and we’re always happy to take a look if something doesn’t feel quite right.
