⚾️ A BIG WEEKEND FOR CAMBRIDGE YOUTH BASEBALL! ⚾️

This weekend marks the culmination of the baseball season for Cambridge Youth Baseball Club — and what a season it has been! 🙌

While we’ll keep playing through much of October and winter ball is already just around the corner, the Margaret Borley Youth National Baseball Championship is the big finale of the year for Cambridge.

2026 is the fourth year of our youth programme and our second full year competing in formal games. Over the past year, our players have worked incredibly hard, taking part in almost 80 training sessions and developing not just their baseball skills, but also their confidence, teamwork, friendships, and the courage to be bold and brave on the field. 💪⚾️

The credit belongs entirely to our young athletes. We couldn’t be prouder of them! ❤️

⚾️ The Cambridge Tee-Ball Griffins are heading to the Nationals! 🦖🏆

We’re incredibly excited to see the Cambridge Baseball Club’s youngest athletes, our Tee-Ball Griffins (U7), take to the field at the The National Baseball & Softball Complex at Farnham Park this Saturday for the Margaret Borley Youth National Championships!

In their inaugural season, our Griffins have been learning the fundamentals of baseball — throwing, hitting, running the bases — and, most importantly, having fun and discovering the joy of the game. ❤️⚾️

A huge shout-out to Coach Simon and our trio of youth players- Ollie, Cygnus and Kavin, for helping introduce these young athletes to baseball and supporting them every step of the way!

Come along and cheer on our Griffins as they take part in T-Rex T-Ball! 🦖⚾️

📣 Go Griffins!

⚾️ CAMBRIDGE vs. OXFORD — U14 NATIONAL SEMI-FINALS! 🔵🩵

Oxford and Cambridge have been rivals for centuries — a little like siblings who are always trying to one-up each other. 😄

Academics? Nobel Prizes, Fields Medals and scientific discoveries.

Punting? Is the River Cam or the River Cherwell and Thames better?

Pubs? Now that’s a debate worth having. 🍻

And sport? Rugby, football, cricket, fencing, hockey… and, of course, the legendary Boat Race — Dark Blues vs. Light Blues! 🚣

Now there’s a new chapter in this friendly rivalry:

⚾️ CAMBRIDGE ATOM SMASHERS
🆚
⚾️ OXFORD OWLS

This Sunday, 27 September at 11:00, these two cities meet on the baseball diamond in the U14 semi-final of the Margaret Borley Youth National Baseball Championships at the National Baseball & Softball Complex, Farnham Park.

Come out and support the hard-working young athletes from both clubs as they battle for a place in the National Finals! 💪⚾️

🏆 The winners advance to the National Final at around 14:00, where they’ll face either the London Youth Baseball League or Herts Baseball Club.

This evening, Coach Dave was joined by Oliver, one of our assistant Tee-Ball coaches, in continuing our youth outreach programme. Together they delivered an introduction to baseball and training session to the Barnwell Cubs.

Whilst this year's season may be winding down, it won't be that long until we are back for indoor winter training. Please drop us a message if you'd like more information about our Youth Programme - and keep a look out for our game reports this weekend as our Tee-ballers, 10u, 12u and 14u teams head to Farnham Park to take part in the Youth National Baseball Championships.

⚾ Cambridge vs Birmingham Baseball Club – U12 National Semi-Finals! ⚾

Wishing all the athletes from the Cambridge Atom Smashers and Birmingham Goats U12 the very best of luck in their National Semi-Final this Saturday, 26 September! 💪🔥

There’s plenty these two clubs have in common: both are just a few years old, both have fantastic cultures, dedicated coaches who emphasise playing the game the right way, and young athletes who are ready to get stuck in, get dirty and play hard right through to the final out — whatever the score! 👊⚾

📍 National Baseball & Softball Complex, Farnham Park
📅 Saturday, 26 September
⏰ First pitch: 11:00

The winners will advance to the National Finals around 13:00, where they’ll face either the London Youth Baseball League or Herts Youth Baseball League.

Good luck to all teams playing on Saturday — enjoy the moment, play hard, and give it everything! ⚾🔥

⚾ A Report from the Dugout! ⚾

A HUGE hurrah for our 12U Atom Smashers, who are advancing to the National Semi-Finals after fantastic wins over Guilford and Brighton! 🔥💪

These were true team performance, featuring:
⚡ Aggressive baserunning
🎯 Standout pitching performances from Will and John
🧤 Strong defense, including a heads-up double play
⚾ Cooper stepping up behind the plate
💥 Great plate discipline — and growing confidence to be aggressive at the plate!

So many players had an outstanding day that we couldn’t possibly name them all. What impressed our coaches most, though, was the way the Smashers played together as a team, supported one another, and remained coachable through all the ups and downs of the game . 👏

A special thank-you to the young athletes and coaches of Guildford Baseball & Softball Club and Brighton Baseball Club, as well as the British Baseball Federation (BBF), for a fantastic day of baseball and great competition.

Next stop: the National Semi-Finals! 🚀⚾

Let’s go, Smashers! 💙🔥
