A quadriceps tendon rupture is highly likely part of what I’ve done with this injury considering all signs and symptoms. Currently still waiting for an MRI to confirm.

• This is a traumatic injury of the quadriceps insertion on the patella leading to a disruption in the knee extensor mechanism.

• Diagnosis is made clinically with a palpable defect 2 cm proximal to the superior pole of the patella with inability to perform a straight leg raise and presence of patella baja on knee radiographs.

• Operative repair is indicated if there is disruption of the extensor mechanism.

I might look all smiles in this first photo, but unfortunately I was sat in a bed in A&E after slipping and falling badly while helping removing cricket covers in priory park Saturday evening.

I am currently home and waiting to an MRI scan as an out patient for a suspected ruptured quadriceps and potentially ligament damage in the knee as well. This will be followed up with a consultation with the orthopedic surgeons to come up with a treatment plan.

I would like to say a huge thank you to all the people that have helped, lovely messages and who have been amazing.

I plan to record my journey of recovery on here, any questions please feel free to ask.
