A belated post this week as our usual correspondent was covering the Liverpool City game much to his demise - won’t be in any rush for any future fixture clashes and besides, it’s only football… not like it matters or owt…

Anyway, a strong tie by the sounds of it. Not the usual high scoring bonanza we’ve grown accustomed to but you get 3 points all the same and that’s what we took from it. According to Sime, our strikers had blindfolds on so it was a joyous occasion when Shay finally slipped his off to put us ahead from the spot.

The glory this week is all MOTM Ralphy’s though, a superb penalty save to make sure we kept the spoils and our current run of form alive. Despite getting off on the wrong foot in our opener, we look as if we could be well in the mix this season. Of course, it all depends on how many Xmas do’s that Brandon ‘BangAtIt’ Mee plans for his teammates - we’ll have to wait and see.

All credit to the *checks notes* Oss Army for keeping us otherwise at bay, should they decide to kick the stable doors open and jump ship I’m sure Boults can get their trackies sized up - they’ve always had a soft spot for us after all.

No game this weekend, good job anorl - gives me time to take delivery of the shipment of inflatable apples we’ve ordered in memory of our days under Smithy’s reign and the pints of Inch’s that flowed freely. He’s not really here, up the Tumbler 🍏

Due to a lack of County Cup action, thanks to a home walkover nonetheless - we find ourselves in the hat without kicking a ball!

Not to worry, we welcome the Oss Botherers to their favourite away ground in another league game where we’ll be looking to keep this rich vein of form alive.

The usual intellectual musings on the popular issues of the day will be available on the sidelines and refreshments will be available from Ronnie Jacko’s Tea Bar.

A more than convincing win for the Blue and Black as they bagged for fun and kept a clean sheet against a game young side in Herons 2nds.

Boults is back, f**k me don’t we know about it aswell - appreciate the shift and the goals but the bending of the ears hasn’t been missed. Stood over me writing match report saying “what about this? What about this?” like a bird. Glad he’s out of the woods though, seriously scary few weeks where we thought he was gonna go Dele Alli on us. Welcome back Daniel son.

Anyway, he’s had his plums tickled. Strong performances all over the pitch again -
Nat Baz a different player this season, Canna absolutely class yet again, both full backs were great, Shep mint and the young pups are settling an absolute dream week by week.

Fair play to Herons 2nds for coming back for a bevvy, top lads. Happy as Larry with the performance in fairness, onto Childers at home next week.

The autumn sun shines upon hallowed turf once again this coming Sunday as the able and Black look to add another win to their tally with Herons 2nds at home.

With Herons A Team being our only shortcoming so far this season, we hope it’s not a phobia of water-based aviary and a mere glitch in the system.

Some game of footy that, reyt watch. Worth peeling yourself out of whoever’s settee you woke up on. 2 nil down before we even passed Styrrup, wish I’d have stayed in wardrobe.

Must’ve brought a few goals with me, about time I had some luck. 2 all before you know it, someone must’ve muted stizza end. Then it starts getting tasty. It’s 4-2, we look like we’ve finally got going properly for the first time this season - with a bare minimum of a squad yet again cos the amount of utter s**thouses and fannies we unfortunately have playing for us. They’ll all pop their heads above the parapet come cup final day…

A wild spotted Pete Boulton replaced Azza Brown - who’s had a cracker of a start to the season in his first game in men’s football. The kids are alright. Josh Nicholl deserves a shout also, Shep mint and Canna played well in his hometown despite the pressure, the Rosso Rascal. Tom Burden, that yellow is on us, reyt shift that. Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater however, spends the second half trying to spot UFOs for the most part. A catalogue of hairy moments and errors leads it to 4 a piece. This could genuinely go either way, goals galore.

A long ball over the top and Benny comes out rushing like he’s missed a run to East Mids, Nat Baz shepherds it home well and truly to make it hat trick. I would like this stating on record that he has always been my favourite Barron, he’s also today’s man of the match and he knows where I am if he needs to offload that spare Dam ticket. One love and all that innit, we actually are jammin.

Sh*te playing on Astro, especially when half your squad s**t it cos they can’t handle a shandy (bar the few lads on international break in Tropic). But we’ve come out on top and that’s all that matters.

New trackies delivered from El Capitan. Magic when you’ve not been home to get changed from last night. Fresh as ten, Smithy would be beaming with pride. E D, E D L, E D L O, EDLO 💙🖤

A deserved win after 19 million chances away at the set of the Wicker Man. Wow, apologies for the delay folks but I’ve just got back. Had to get a treasure map out to get there. Johnny Depp got a lift with Fennel n lot. Back of beyond.

Mad that. They had a free kick and buried it, nothing led towards it but wow it was a corker. Heartbeat s**t this, village green preservation s**t brother - 50 mins for bag of wind. Shay plays limp at half time…

Half Time.

Shay scores 2 in quick succession, all of a sudden it’s spring chicken FC. Nat Baz decides that he doesn’t want to convert his thousand on goal, he decides he’ll just have a half chance screamer - the kid is not a well man. Dom has a dig and turns his back, the keeper parries it and lets her spill? Dom couldn’t even believe it - but it’s good to have him back and he loves being back in blue and black (not as much as Fen does the greenhead).

Admin is having his shout today - Ralphy is man of match, have you ever seen a cross between Baresi and Craig Bellamy? You have now. Young Finn is some goalie wow.

3 games in, 2 games without our ex striker Daniel Boulton. We take the p**s but we genuinely wish him all the best. Narcolepsy isn’t a laughing matter and this is twice he’s kipped through his alarm now. The modern player…
