🏉 PHENOMENAL PERFORMANCE! 🏉
Wheatley Hills Colts 72 – 22 Sandal Colts
What a performance from the Wheatley Hills Colts today!
From the very first minute, the boys were fired up, focused and ready to go. The intensity started in the warm-up and carried straight through the game, with communication on point, hard running lines and some seriously physical tackling.
The first half saw Wheatley Hills build a strong lead, with Zach grabbing a hat-trick, while Joe and Danyl also got themselves on the scoresheet. Joe was clinical from the tee as the Hills continued to apply the pressure.
Sandal responded with two tries of their own and showed exactly what they were about, continuing to battle and making sure the Hills had to work for everything.
The second half saw the Colts maintain that intensity. Logan grabbed a hat-trick, while Noah and Franke both crossed twice, with Archie also getting himself on the scoresheet. Noah and Joe added further points from the tee as Wheatley Hills continued to attack with real purpose.
A huge mention has to go to Franke on his Colts debut. What a way to introduce yourself, not only getting your first Colts appearance under your belt, but crossing the whitewash twice as well!
But perhaps just as pleasing as the performance was the feedback received from both the referee and our opponents.
The boys showed excellent communication, discipline, physicality and, importantly, respect throughout the game.
Credit to Sandal, who played their part in an excellent contest and continued to compete right through to the end.
There is plenty to be excited about with this group. The hard work is showing, the team is developing and there are some very positive signs of what this Colts side can achieve.
Another big step forward.
