New to climbing or still finding your feet? Come along to our free adult beginner coaching session every Thursday, 5:30–6:30pm.

Our coaches will help you with the basics, build your confidence on the wall and give you plenty of tips to get you climbing.

Our main room is getting all the attention this month with 3 different areas being reset for everyone to enjoy!

🌋 3 August | Volcano Wall Reset
A fan favourite is getting all new problems, across all grades!

🛢️10 August | Barrel Wall Reset
A much needed update on the Barrel as it’s not been done since June! Excited to see how Impact Route Setting reset this wall!

🧗‍♀️ 24 August | Slab Wall Reset
Another favourite amongst our climbers is getting a well needed

Rock Stars Climbing Club

🪨 Rock Solid Bouldering 2026 | Final Round 🪨

This weekend we’re hosting the fourth and final round of the Rock Solid Bouldering 2026 competition! 🎉

Rock Solid is a friendly, entry level youth competition based in the North East, open to climbers of all abilities, from anywhere in the UK and beyond.

Our incredible route setting team, Impact Route Setting, are hard at work on Thursday and Friday, creating 20 brand new competition boulders across the entire centre. Expect a brilliant mix of climbs, from shorter reach problems to exciting World Cup inspired boulders that will challenge competitors of every level.

The best part? Once the competition is over, these boulders will stay up until the next reset, giving everyone the chance to come in and try the competition blocs for themselves.

Good luck to everyone competing. We can’t wait to welcome you all this Saturday! 💪

🧗Staff Training Update

Behind every great climbing session is a brilliant team! 💚

Over the past few weeks we’ve been investing in our staff to make sure we’re ready for a fantastic summer.

Our recent training has included:
☕ Barista training with Matt from our brilliant local coffee roasters Fika Coffee Roasters helping us serve even better coffee
⛑️ First Aid training for all staff to ensure our team is confident and prepared
🙏🏻 Safeguarding training UK Coaching to keep the wellbeing of everyone at the centre at the heart of what we do
🌱 Summer Camp activity training and workshops, getting our coaches and camp leaders ready for an action-packed summer of climbing, games and adventures!
👋 Company orientation training for our newest team members, helping them settle in and get to know everything that makes Durham Climbing Centre special.
