A fabulous first ever XC session for both Tammy Chloe and her lovely ex hurdler Prezzie at Poltimore Park X-Country this morning, before the extreme heat! Tammy has done an amazing job of building Prezzieβs trust and confidence, since purchasing him as a 5 year old. Sheβs taken time to build on the foundations with him out hacking and with his flatwork and although he is now 9, he is a bit of a worrier when it comes to jumping fences! With this in mind, we started off warming him up on the flat, then introduced him to some small logs, in walk, trot and then canter. Although there were a few stops along the way, Tammy remained calm, patient, balanced and focused at all times. We kept the jumps small and uncomplicated which resulted in a very positive and confidence boosting session for them both. Super job Tammy and Prezzie π€©πππ. Many thanks for sharing these fab photos showing your progress together. Look forward to seeing you all again soon π

Shona and Bean had another very good day competing yesterday, this time in a big ridden showing class at the Devon County Show! Congratulations to them both for being pulled in 4th, then placed 7th individual. Bean looked very relaxed and coped so well in a much busier atmosphere π€©ππ
Very confident and positive riding from Martha Fursdon and Dolly in their jumping lesson tonight. They jumped over a grid of 3 (over a cross to a 1 canter stride upright to a 2 canter stride 60cm upright on the centre line from A on both reins. This was a great test for Martha to maintain impulsion and balance in the canter, well balanced and supple turns and straightness down the centre line on approach and through the grid. Fantastic riding, very proud of them both ππ€©π

Two lovely long hacks on Chief and Statey. A bit blustery but both boys behaved impeccably. Particularly impressed with Statey, who I managed to keep calm and contained when an Amazon Prime delivery driver came speeding over the brow of a hill behind us, then hit the breaks hard and skidded and screeched all over the road, literally a couple inches away from crashing into us π‘π‘
Lovely work this afternoon from Michele Broadbent & Bert who maintained a consistent rhythm and tempo in their trot work using half circles, 20m circles and figures of 8 to improve suppleness and connection. Then Sam & Zanda worked on improving their transitions and achieved some lovely canter work. Well done ladies ππ
