Competition isn’t always about beating the person next to you. Sometimes, it’s about proving something to yourself.
This weekend, some of our Paratus girls stepped onto the competition floor as a team of 4 - taking on workouts, pushing their limits and backing each other from start to finish.
Yes, there’s a leaderboard. But there are so many other ways to measure success!
When you compete as a team it becomes about more than your own performance. It’s communication, trust, encouragement and finding that little bit extra because your teammates are right there with you.
So we asked each of the girls one simple question:
“What are you most proud of from the weekend?”
Lisa Brady “I will never be as proud of anything in my LIFE as my 15 sn**ches. I don’t even think drugs could match that feeling when he said rep 15”
Sabrina Rasaiah “Adding 10kg to my hang clean from the comp this time last year!”
Meggg “PB’ing my lift and watching Lisa go from never sn**ching before & fresh out of a cast to smashing 15 reps at a PB weight. I’m more proud of Lis than anything I did!”
Emma Willetts “Being able to do my lift without panicking and getting a PB. Just not panicking in general! I’m also proud that at no point looking at videos or pictures did I pick apart how my body looked AND that we all went in and just smashed the day and had fun”
keira “Not getting completely squashed under the worm”
Vicky Haworth “Winning the sn**ch complex with Keira “
Aimée Smith “I’m quite proud of myself for the acid bath workout cos I fully went into a hole on that”
blanvoyage “I’m proud for not crying on the sn**ch workout and managing to squat sn**ch 85% for 12 reps when I thought I’d barely get half that!”
That’s what competition is really good at showing you - not just where you rank, but how far you’ve come.
And also huge shout out to all of the support crew who made the trip to Bolton. From pre comp food prep to coaching on the day to making sure everyone got home safe. It’s a full team effort! To quote Lisa “Everyone is such a hype girl I love our gym!”
Proud of you all of you 🩵🩷
