The season continues this morning as Skirlaugh U15s take on Myton Greens in our first Hull Youth League fixture of the year.

The boys have trained really well leading up to this game and the effort and intensity at training has been excellent. Today will be another tough challenge, but the lads are looking forward to getting out there and giving it everything.

Myton are always a strong side, so we know it’ll be a great contest — let’s make sure we match them with our energy, teamwork and determination. 💛🖤

🔥 BARLA Yorkshire Cup – Round 2 🔥

Skirlaugh U15s were back in cup action this weekend and produced a strong performance on the road, coming away with a 38–10 victory over Lock Lane Centurions 💛🖤

The official result currently shows 38 points — although we’re still waiting clarification on four that didn’t make it onto the board 👀 — but the result was never in doubt.

The lads worked hard throughout, showing discipline in defence and composure in attack. A real squad effort again with everyone playing their part.

👏 Man of the Match performances go to Sitch and Dyson — fully deserved, boys!

Yorkshire Cup Quarter Finals to take place in May. Next week, start of the Hull U15 League.

Match Report – Skirlaugh vs Myton Greens

Skirlaugh played their final match of the Championship series in a tough battle against a well-drilled Myton Greens side. With a top-two spot still up for grabs, Skirlaugh went into the contest with real drive and aggression.

The first half was a nail-biting encounter, both teams completing their sets well and forcing each other into the corners. Skirlaugh defended strongly but couldn’t quite find a way over the try line, ending the half 4–0 behind.

Myton started the second half strong, applying pressure and breaking through to extend their lead to 12–0 with 20 minutes to go. Skirlaugh dug deep and continued to test the league leaders, but despite their best efforts, they couldn’t break the defensive line. The game finished 18–0 to Myton.

It was a real team performance from Skirlaugh, with several players standing out:

Sanders produced an outstanding display in the centres, showing strength and determination in both his running and defence. His efforts impressed the coaches, who named him Man of the Match.

Sumpton, playing in a new role at fullback, delivered an excellent performance. He carried the ball strongly, read the game superbly, and gave his team a solid platform from the back.

Next up for Skirlaugh is the Yorkshire Cup quarter-final against Lock Lane – a tough challenge, but one the boys are ready to face head-on.
