Really sad to hear of the passing of Jack Trickett. Jack was my professional boxing manager early on in my career and I always enjoyed his company. He was a straight-talking man, straight to the point, but always fair. I’ve honestly not got a bad word to say about him.

It was a great sending-off for him today and thoroughly deserved.

Rest in peace, Jack. It was a pleasure knowing you and I’ll always have a lot of respect for you, mate. 🥊❤️

One of our trainers, Bobby Joe Edwards — an amazing trainer and an amazing fighter with a huge amount of experience. 🥊

It’s great to have Bobby passing on his knowledge and experience to the troops, getting them ready for their big night at Wilmslow Leisure Centre.

Quality coaching, quality sparring and the lads are learning every session. 👊🔥

🥊 Boxing isn’t all about throwing punches.

A huge part of boxing is learning how to handle yourself up close — in the clinch, under pressure, being pushed, pulled and knocked off balance in the centre of the ring.

You’ve got to learn how to stay strong, keep your balance, regain your position and remain composed when things get physical.

This is exactly the sort of preparation Manchester boxing legend Bob Shannon puts our white-collar lads through.

It might look rough — and it is! 😂 — but it’s fantastic preparation for what can happen once you step through those ropes.

Proper old-school ring craft from one of Manchester’s finest. 🥊 #
