Dear Friends, Supporters, and Riders,
Since 1961, Dulwich Riding School has been a proud cornerstone of our local community. For over six decades, we have provided an essential green sanctuary in South London, introducing thousands of children and adults to the joy of horses, supporting mental well-being, and teaching vital life skills.
Today, we are facing an unprecedented challenge.
Like many independent establishments, we are battling severe economic pressures. Over the past few years, the baseline costs of running an urban riding school have surged drastically. The price of essential horse feed, forage, bedding, and veterinary care has risen to historic highs. Combined with climbing utility bills and rising land maintenance costs, the overhead of caring for our horses has reached a level that can no longer be sustained by lesson fees alone.
We have always worked tirelessly to keep riding accessible and affordable for everyone. However, to ensure our gates stay open and our horses remain well-cared for, we must adapt. We are actively exploring structural options for the long term-including incorporation and potential part-ownership frameworks-but right now, we need immediate stability.
We are reaching out to you, our incredible community, to ask for your support in securing our short-term survival. We are launching a fundraising campaign to bridge this gap and help us navigate these
rising costs.
