Once more Luso's fencers have proved to be the best in the Southern Region! 🥳 over two weekends, we took part in the British Youth Championships qualifiers in Swindon and over 8 epee events, our fencers won 4 of them! 🥇🥇🥇🥇but that's not all! Of the 32 medals available in epee, we won 15 of them! 🥈🥈🥈🥈🥈🥉🥉🥉🥉🥉🥉 this was our best year so far, with an astonishing 25 fencers qualified to the Nationals in Sheffield 👏🏻👏🏻 read the list below, can you spot the age group where we won 1st, 2nd and 3rd place?

🇵🇱 🌟 What a weekend for Luso at Challenge Wratislavia 2026! 🌟 🇵🇱

Huge congratulations to our amazing fencers who delivered outstanding performances at their first ever international competition!

In both U15 Girls Épée and U11 Girls Épée, Luso achieved the best results of the entire England team — an incredible achievement and a testament to their hard work, courage, and passion on the piste.

We couldn’t be prouder of every single athlete who represented the club with determination and spirit 👏🏻

Next stop: gearing up for the British Youth Championships with the Future Champions Academy workshop, running 24–26 April in Maidenhead. The journey continues, and the best is yet to come. ⚔️✨

We are extremely happy and proud to announce that Anna has been selected to represent the Republic of Ireland 🇮🇪 at the Cadets European Championships in Georgia 🇬🇪 and at the Cadets World Championships in Brazil 🇧🇷 🥳
Tomight, together with coach James, Anna will fly to Tbilisi to get ready for this amazing challenge 🤺💪🏻 we wish her all the best and we will look forward to what our incredible fencers will achieve next 💜

This year Luso celebrated its 5th anniversary, and what a year it has been! 🤩 we went from milestone to milestone, always with a smile and having a lot of fun. We started our collaboration with with a workshop in February, led by the amazing , and , then we organised our very first residential camp, led by the incredibly talented and we finished the year meeting two great athletes, and ! 🤩🎉🔥 we won our first major championship, thanks to Carson (British Champion, U14) 🏆and got a medal in the U14 girls at the same event, with Verena 👏🏻 we won our first European medal with Eliana (U14 EFC Circut) 🥈✨️ for the first time we reached the top 8 in the Cadet Nationals, thanks to Muaadh 🎉 overall, we took home more than 40 medals in different events over the year and we dominated the Southern Region Qualifiers in epee 😎 we have a new qualified coach, Garrick, who is already giving an incredible support to our fencers! 💯
We celebrated, had fun, ate a lot of tasty food at our Winter Party and at the end of the year presentation and we could have not done all of this thanks to all the extraordinary fencers, coaches, parents and supporters who every day make us proud on and outside the piste! Thank you 💙 have a wonderful end of the year and an even better beginning, we look forward to seeing you all in 2026 🎉🎉🎉

They did it again! Our wonderful fencers went to the Leon Paul U14 Open and to the C***s Moor Woods Epee event and came back with a bag full of medals 🥳
On Saturday, Carson dominated his poule, giving away just 7 points in 5 bouts 💪🏻 match after match, Carson made his way into the final against Felix (Knightsbridge). A solid score of 12/5 gave the current British U14 Champion the gold medal 🥇
Convincing performance from the U14 girls on the same day, with Victoria taking the 8th place. Coach James expressed satisfaction for the progress shown by all of them 🔥
On Sunday, in Solihull, Orrick lost only one match in the poule, against Farlam (Dacorum). They met again in the final of the U15 event, and after the first two period when they studied each other without risking much, Orrick got away and took the final home with a score of 13/8 🥇
A couple of pistes away, Sereena also fenced a final against Fowler (Oundle). A close match that saw Sereena taking the silver medal 🥈 on the podium next to her, Bridget and her bronze medal. Strong performance from this young fencer who got knocked out by her teammate 1🥉
First medal for Luca in the U13 Boys event 🥉💪🏻🔥 during the whole day Luca gave away only 6 points to his opponents! It was an incredible result for this young athlete who started not even two years ago!

Every term, a coach from FCA comes to Luso to work with our fencers to push them to their next level while videos and feedback of every fencer progress are shared throughout the season 🎯🤩💪🏻

Final, special mention to Eliana who has represented GBR at the EFC Cadet Circuit twice already in Italy 🇮🇹 and Austria 🇦🇹 and this weekend, togehter with Zalan and Anna L (representing Ireland 🇮🇪), will fence again in Budapest 🇭🇺

In the U14 Girls, Charlotte showed good technique and great attitude. After winning a couple of matches in the poule round and losing two matches by one point, she fenced our friend from The Holt Seraphine. Victoria and Bridget started their day not in the best way, with just one victory each, but showing great maturity and resilience, they managed to change the situation during the DEs round, bringing home one and two DEs respectively 🔝
Finally, in the U14 Boys, Luca is the author of an excellent performance in the poule round, winning all his matches, but one. Ranked 7th, he surrenders to n.23 in the first DEs. A hard lesson to be learned by this young fencer who showed great potential and who always put great effort into his training 👏🏻
Special mention for Austin and Thomas who took part in the event, too. Victories might not be coming yet, but they are both showing the right attitude, and they are that very important experience that one day will allow them to bring home plenty of victories 🤩

A small note for our dear friend Lorenzo, who we had the opportunity to meet again in Naples. He was a coach at Luso in 2017 and still has a special place in our hearts! 💜 we also had the chance to meet Carina, who funded Luso in 2014, great to see her and her athletes, and we hope one day we could host all of them here, maybe for one of the amazing workshops that we will organise throughout the year, as the upcoming one next week with Olympic medallist
