Match Report:

Another away trip for the lads today. Billingham have been flying so far this season so today would have been a good test for SPR. SPR seemed to struggle to get going for most of the game with their passing/pressing style we’ve got use to enjoy seeing over the last few weeks. That lads had to dig deep and come from behind twice today to get back level and looked to be on route for a well earned draw but conceded late on with a minute left. One of those days that we could have easily got more and possibly even a win if we got going but the lads can be happy with the goals/assists and little passing phases in the game.

MOTM
Wallace and Freddie both got nominated from Billingham coaches today. Freddie lead the line after missing last weeks game and provided some great through balls which eventually got Josh his goal and Freddie an assist. Wallace played in goal and continued on from Jude’s performance last week with some great save through out the game to stop Billingham running away with it. His communication to the SPR to mark up etc was also noted by the opposition coaches

Well done lads 👏🏻

Match Report:

A short trip to the sports village for the lads today. We were left with a bare 8 players today who were all ready to give it another go to try and keep the great performances and progression over the last few weeks going. The lads had to battle first half playing against the wind (classic Sunday league saying) but also a good team in riverside juniors who like SPR wanted to get the ball down and play so passing football. First half was a very close encounter with SPR having nothing much to complain about as they had chances to score themselves but it was riverside juniors grabbing a long range effort to take the lead into the second half. SPR were told to relax and use the ball on the floor and use wind this half to have some long range efforts ourselves. SPR went and did this grabbing three goals from Josh and Charlie. SPR had to dig deep through out the second half to get level and then to see out the game with a brilliant defensive display from the back three of Jude,Jackson and George with Jude pulling off some very top level saves with his hands or feet and one with his face. The lads ended winners and hopefully the unbeaten run continues into the winter period and beyond.

MOTM

Jude got nominated by the Riverside management team for MOTM and rightly so as his many saves kept us in the game when we were behind but he also pulled off saves at the back end of the second half to help see out the game. His ball distribution was always top whether thats rolling out short to defenders or starting a counter attack with a long kick.

Charlie got SPR nomination as he was a work horse thought out the game in CM with the constant press he didn’t give the riverside players a chance to breathe. Once he had the ball and was relaxed with it he’d play some short/long passes or even display some fancy footwork to dribble forward and finished off the day with a calm finish to settle the game.

Well done lads 👏🏻

Match Report:

Another home game down at the dock as the lads went on the hunt for their first win of the season after a few close games recently in the last few weeks. We welcomed Darlington RA who’ve we’ve crossed paths with many times and had very close games since Under 7’s.

The last few weeks we’ve been very unlucky when trying to implement our style of play in games but today everything seemed to click for them and the lads delivered the closest performance I’ve seen them do to perfect to the point where I was able to stand not coach and just watch some unbelievable passing triangles and switches of play which is a credit to the lads for constantly trying to make it work over the last few weeks. Darlington RA didn’t make it an easy game for us by any means and kept the lads on their toes the whole with some great attempts on goal themselves.

Proper team performance today to get a well deserved first win of the season from Jude in goal all the way through defence and midfield to Freddie up front with everyone playing a huge part.

MOTM

Was very hard to pick one as everyone was brilliant today but the front three of Josh, Freddie (opposition pick) and Travis where brilliant stand outs today from linking up between themselves as we attacked to doing the hard work of tracking back and helping out defensively as well and all three got their deserved goals from solo efforts or great team play. Well done lads 👏🏻

Match Report:

Another home game down at the dock as the lads went on the hunt for their first win of the season after a few close games recently in the last few weeks. We welcomed Hartlepool Youth yellow who’ve we’ve crossed paths with many times since Under 7’s.

South Park worked a lot on playing around the back and keeping possession in Tuesday and Saturdays training sessions and tried to implement it into the game today. There was a few mistakes which were going to happen as we were trying something different and not kick and chase it but these will be ironed out as the season goes on and once it clicks like it did now and again today it will become a powerful assist to the style of our play.

South Park matched Hartlepool for parts of the games which allowed us to get goals from Josh rounding the keeper after a brilliant ball from Charlie and Theo to score his first goal for South Park in the second half with a composed 1v1 finish. Errors and lack of concentration as well as some unbelievable strikes allowed Hartlepool to take the win. The lads can take positives from the game as well as things they and the team can improve on for next time as we continue with the season.

Match Report

Today we were back at Smith Dock, welcoming Darlington Young Bulls Steels U10s for what turned out to be a fantastic game of football.

From the very start, we could see that Darlington were a strong side with some excellent technical ability. However, our boys weren’t fazed at all. They battled hard, won their individual 1v1 battles and went toe-to-toe with a very good Darlington team.

We scored three fantastic team goals, with Dylan, Yarni and Freddie all getting on the scoresheet. The goals were a great reward for the teamwork and effort shown throughout the game.

At the back, Jude put in a brilliant performance in goal, making several fantastic saves to keep us in the game. Our defence was also solid as a rock, with Jackson showing great physical strength, organisation and leadership.

The boys showed plenty of determination, teamwork and a fantastic attitude from start to finish. To come away with a 3–3 draw against a strong Darlington side is something they should be really proud of.

👏 Overall, a brilliant team performance. Every player should be proud of the effort they put in today!

🔴⚽ Well done, lads! ⚽🔵
