A delightful little trot out with the main man Thor this morning 🐾
Finally got to go over the reopened bridge, known locally as Lego Bridge 🌉
The legs were definitely feeling yesterday’s Ludus Games… although I may have forgotten to mention that our team won 👀😂💪
Recovery miles with the best company, fresh air, and a gentle reminder that tired legs are often a sign of a great day before.
As many of you know, I’m continuing my training for my ultra challenge in memory of my mum and to raise money for Dementia UK. Every bit of support and sponsorship means a huge amount and helps keep me moving forward, one step at a time.

So where to start? Well, positives as always.
It’s been a fantastic week of training 💪
One upper body session and one lower body session at Ludus, and wow… that lower body session was tough! We also had the Wednesday evening walk and then a great day out in the Black Mountains yesterday.
Now for the negatives.
The main one is my ankle. It started niggling after the cycling last weekend and has been up and down all week. I’ve been doing the exercises given to me by my coach, Dai “The Dutchman”, using the sonic gun on it, and had some treatment from Kim as well.
Unfortunately, by mile 5 yesterday it was painful again.
But even from that came a positive. Having to slow down gave me time to think and re-evaluate things. So the plan is still to keep the two strength sessions and a walk each week, but I’ll more than likely add swimming into the mix to help maintain my aerobic fitness while taking a bit of load off the ankle.
The good news is that it actually feels a bit better today, so fingers crossed that a sensible week or two now will have me back on track 🤞
Sometimes training isn’t about pushing harder; it’s about being smart enough to adapt and keep moving forward.
